I tried 18WoS:Across America very briefly, but I'll be returning it. First off, it took me an hour to get it working in Vista x64, it kept crashing on startup. Eventually, I got it working, but I could play in max 800x600 resolution (which in it's self is a joke, when you're used to 1920x1080...), with 16bit colour and every other option turned off or down to the lowest, with no AA. Fair enough I thought, maybe the sim itself will make up for it.
Umm, no...I started in San Fransisco, spent 10 minutes trying to set up my wheel, and as soon as I took off zoomed up to 30mph and hit a wall. Lovely. And the brakes have absolutley no effect when you go below, say, 20. After that you're relying on momentum to slow you down, which isn't very dependable when travelling downhill...And the steering isn't recognised properly either, so I have to counter-steer to straighten up, which gets boring. All in all, it's actually far worse than ETS
On a better note, I'm currently downloading EU Map 1.3 for ETS, which, if it all goes smoothly, will mean a far better game
