Well, a BIG bump for this thread, but i think i am improving......

Over the months that have passed since i started this thread i have had highs and lows so to speak, weekday evenings with 1 or 2 beers, some with 4 or 5 as well, it has not been easy i can tell you.

I am now at the point where i have a strictly regulated 1 can of beer policy in the week, which is working very well for me.

i drink tea or soft drinks such as coke or lemonade for a while, and then i may have 1 beer. I dont always have one, if its early enough in the evening then i will indulge, if its getting up near midnight then i just leave it and go to bed.

I think it is my new found enthusiasm in fruit machines (and friend with very good knowledge of them) that has helped me take my mind off things, as there aint a bar in the arcades we go to. I dont play, i just watch and learn them.

I do however still have more than 1 at the weekends, i am on carlsberg number 3 at the moment.

I believe i have somewhat reversed this habitual drinking that i had slipped into, and i feel alot better for it as well, no days off work for ages!

I would also like to thank, as well as everybody else, becky for her input to my problem as well, so if you are reading this, your posts were most helpful, thankyou very much becky.
If you were serious about your possible problem you wouldn't be drinking at all.
I am seroius matey, just slowly cutting it down over time, down to 1 or none in the week, which has to be better for me than 5+, plus i ant pulled a sicky in months!
Keep it up then.

I plan to mate. For sure. I feel like a different person now, as i was a miserable moody c--- so my missus informs me.

Plus, despite 2 negative tests, the missus is displaying all the classic symptoms of being pregnant, so i don't want my unconfirmed as yet child to see me as a horrible alki.
Ohh. :o

Possible congrats on a baby. D:

Just don't say "well 2 failed test's must mean your getting fat honey"

That will not end well..............not well at all.
Haha, thanks jamie and mackie.

Seriously though, she keeps feeling sick, and was sick once yesterday morning, has belly ache, boob pains, bursting into tears for no reason at all, and craves strange food so im quietly confident!

Ha it's clear now, you've confused normally, everyday woman behaviors to possible symptoms of a sprog on the way..easily done, tread careful

Serious all the best, hope you get the good news your after
i think you have.
try cutting the evening beers a little, not completely, but instead of 4 take 1 or 2. after doing that some time try only taking them every second day. after that if still you find it as a drinking problem try only taking at weekend
Reply to thread name: No.

And I never was drunk
Good on ya for getting this far! You still have a little way to go (well...that depends on where you want to get to :razz so keep it up! It seems like you're doing really well, but once you've cured this problem remember not to lapse into it again. I agree with Becky, cut it out completely. It's tempting to say 'after a while mabye you can start having a few beers again' but that would probably be a very bad idea. Cut it out completely, I'm sure you will feel a lot better and have a much better life for it!

Oh, and good luck with the baby if there is one! You seem like you're really pleased about the possibility, so do it for him/her!

But yeah, you seem to be doing very well! Keep it up - have 2 cans today if you must, then one can next saturday and go clean on sunday! And you could start on the weeks, don't drink on two weekdays next week, then four the week after that, then no more!

Well, okay, you don't have to follow that exactly, you seem to be doing well yourself, but I think it's important to set yourself goals like that. Plus not listening to a word theirishnoob says is a good idea!

Well, enough of my rambling...

I'd say it's better to drink 4 or 5 beers once in the week than 1 beer every evening.

1 beer every evening is clear sign that you are addicted, IMO.
Big bump for this one!!

I am now to the point where i can take it or leave it, i can have beer in the fridge and not drink it, which is a step in the right direction, plus i don't drink in the week anymore.

Thats not to say i don't have a couple at the weekend, but its got to be better than every night of the week.

And i am so glad i sorted it out before it went too far, especially after my good friend matt received this news last week.

Its true, and those kind of posts are somehow more touching than the 234th advertisment featuring starving african children

Just think about it, you made the step early enough, you could have ended that same way
I tend to drink a fair bit at home out of boredom really. But it's easier to quit if you replace it with something else.

For example, I used to sit up every night until all hours drinking beer, but now the nights I decide not to drink, I get into bed early and watch some tv shows and have a hot chocolate instead.

I quite look forward to this as a result, as it's a different night.

The thoughts of pushing drinking so far that you'd need to quit forever put me off going over the top.

This is all very well, but I find my tolerance for drink has gone to sh!t now
Quote from BlueFlame :How the **** is your post relevent to this topic? Show some respect, jesus god.

lol its quite relevent he is talking about a problem he thinks he has and dosent realize only he can do something about this
Don't you realize that danthebangerboy revivied this old thread to tell everyone that he infact did something?
