I have been saying about the lack of proper setup options for oval racing in LFS since S2 was released. Finally, some others agree. It's Wedge and Stagger that is missing.
Also, the oval we have in LFS right now is the biggest problem in Nascar at the moment. Nascar is ridding themselves of the originals and the GOOD tracks and moving to new "cookie cutter" tracks that are all the freakin same. 1.5 to 2 mile tri-oval tracks. We need something like they ran tonight, Darlington!!! Asphalt that eats tires within several laps... Less than 1.5 miles... Egg shaped so you have 2 distinctly different turns on either end with 2 different lines through them...
One of my favorite Nascar tracks was Charlotte. It is a 1.5 mile speedway. Nascar is screwing everything up though by taking the Rockinghams and the Darlingtons out and building copies of Charlotte all over the western coast and central US. They take Charlotte and change a little banking in the corners, change the tri-oval a little bit and call it Chicago, Las Vegas, California, Texas, etc. The history of Nascar is leaving for the future of Nascar and all that future is, just like everything else, is money money money. They took away 1 race at Darlington, my favorite race. They took away both races at Rockingham, probably my 2nd favorite. I saw signs waving in the background of the pre-race show "Bring back North Wilksboro" and they also took away Nazareth quite some time ago. Interesting oval track that on was. What's next? Get rid of Martinsville and Bristol so they can build yet 2 more Charlottes in South Dakota and Wisconsin?
Ok, I'm starting to rant. You have to forgive me. I know what the majority opinion of Nascar is here. But you have to understand, with our TV coverage, it's about the only racing we have to watch. And, until the last 5 years, Nascar was actually pretty good.
