I thought you'd said 'bye' to LFS forums because of there being too many morons...
Wow, you really haven't checked the forums lately... I've been posting for a couple months with a fun new avatar and fun new demeanor!

CHECK IT OUT!
can you imagine it if there are 3 or four cars fighting for position and all pitting at the same time? just needs the first one out of the pits to cock it up into the tunnel and they'll all be boxed in

it was a scenario made for piquet really, block the rest of the field in so alonso is the only car on track, can you imagine the row if webber crashed there with the 2 brawns in the pits?

actually knowing webber's look its more likley he'll be winning the race by 40 secs and when leaving the pits after his last stop the tunnel will collapse on him

Bernie says Senna's crash was 'good for F1'

Untimely death is never good for anything!

What he says is true in a long-term perspective, but regardless, people who know nothing about F1 and getting interested in it because somebody crashed and died to me can NEVER be a good thing.
Bernie is right from a commercial point of view. But he could have phrased it better.
That seems to be a recurring theme with Bernie, senior moments perhaps?

He dosen't seem to understand that there is good publicity and then there is bad publicity, bad publicity is never good, even if it brings attention and fame. Jade Goody got attention and fame through bad publicity, go figure.
Were they brazil nuts?

Yeah.. I'll be in the corner
Retards....

I feel sorry for Hamilton.... He is getting so much abuse from people just for being a good racing driver......

People will never forgive him for beating their favorites "Ferrari" and "Mr Alonso"
I don't see anything racially motivated in that.
Yes it's petty, but it's just some fools being mad at him for causing Barrichello's puncture and grabbing the championship from under Massa's nose last year.

Seen lots worse stuff in other sports, football to name one, without anyone even mentioning Racism.
He's black. Therefore anything against him is racism (apparently).
Yes. Welcome to Earth. The year is 2009.

/sarcasm

I agree. That wasn't racist, but these so called "fans" are getting quite boring now. All because a black guy, who's in some peoples minds still means "lower status" (I thought we live in 2009/21st Century! For Gods sake people....) came into F1 and on his rookie year gave all the "Pro's" a good butt kicking......

Can't we just leave it now? Oh no sorry.... I forgot..... We must rip at him at any given chance.....

Also. Why are people not calling Jenson "daddys boy".....? As far as I am aware, John is always at every GP watching his son race.

Oh yes. I forgot again...... It was just a good way to rip on Lewis and make him look childish/immature....

Donington in trouble. Some people seem happy about this, but I can't quite understandthe euphoria. When we could be looking at having 2 F1 standard venues in the UK it's something to be happy about, instead people attacked Gillet day 1. Mind you we are British and revel in failure!
Two "F1 Standard" venues would be awful. "F1 Standard" generally means "a bit shit for anything slower than a GP2 car". Silverstone is dull enough, and they're gonna ruin Donington too.
They should've just left Donnington alone, its a fine track as it is.
Donington was a complete and utter shithole. Some of the worst facilities out there. This project is/was helping bring it up to standard. There is no doubt the UK leads world motorsport industry but we could be in serious trouble in a few years but if we can't continue to grow and evolve. We will fall behind other countries.

We can get all emotional and attached to XYZ circuit but the reality it we need to come out of the dark ages. Granted due to the nature of government subsidised circuits/facilities in other countries we are struggling regardless.

I was at Paul Ricard a year or two ago for some pr gig and the place is just out of this frickin' world. how can we compete with that in attracting new business to UK motorsport.
Donington was fine. The facilities weren't bad at all. Anyone who thinks they were is living in the same cloud cuckoo land as Bernie. For club motorsport (the majority, and without which professional motorsport wouldn't be sustainable) it was one of the great circuits you really wanted to go to.

Making it to Bernie's/Tilke's standards ruins it for the majority.

In terms of F1, Donington was rubbish. But why should another great circuit be ruined to make it good for F1?

I hope Donington fails before they dig up too much. I want to race there. And I want to enjoy it.

But it was a national/club circuit, and thats what I expect of such circuits. Infact its probrably one of the better kept national circuits, the facilities may be showing their age but at least there are plenty of them.

Although the overall quality ofthe UKs circuits has improved massively thanks to the likes of MSV, if you think Donnington is bad, I can remember what Snetterton used to be like in the late 90s.

Makes me wonder if you've actually even been there? T'is certainly one of the best circuits in the UK to race on but it still dosen't beat Brands Hatch.

And they'd just rebuilt most of the pit buildings from scratch for 2007, which are completely useless now F1 is on the cards.

A slightly shoddy national circuit is far better than a half baked international circuit that never quite made it.
I hate Tilke circuits as much as the next guy, and recognise the importance of club level racing. However I can't see how it's a bad thing improving Donington. The place desperately needs a face lift.

How can UK motorsport drivers continue to demand vast amounts of sponsorship when the people with the money have to deal with what we can deliver.

Of course we can question whether this deal was ever going to work/fail. But the idea of improving British motorsport facilities, which are now increasingly far behind our European and Asian counteparts, is actually a bad thing? I can't get to grips with that
Face lift, yes. Resurfacing the paddock? Yes. But widening the track to F1 standards so that 90% of the corners are flat in anything other than an F1/GP2 car? No thanks. The Craner Curves will become boring. Coppice, Redgate? Who gives a damn. Kerbs the width of a car? Runoff areas the size of Wales? Sure, it'll be 'safer' for club racers, but the challenge and the enjoyment will be ruined.

Most UK circuits - Anglesey, Snetterton, Brands Hatch, Oulton Park, Knockhill, Rockingham (poor example) etc have facilities far in excess of most non-UK circuits. Sure, Combe has no pit garages (nor does Mallory really, or Cadwell), but even there the rest of the facilities are on a par or better than most non-UK circuits.
Trouble is all these modern circuits are basically big hotels/casinos/enterntainment centres which happen to have a racing ciruit, it should be the other way round.

We're not exactly behind in Europe, Silverstone may not have great big shiny grandstands and buildings, but what is there is in near pristine condition. I think people (including Bernie) are just obsessedwith massive stands/hotels/whatever else because it means lots of money. Most of these facilities are not necessary to run a respectable international motorsport event but nobody gives a stuff about the actual racing anymore. F1 isn't motorsport.

I don't see anything wrong with the facilities of the UK's club circuits, in the late 90s many of them were muddy dumps but its really improved.
