That's y i have BOTH Vista just wouldn't give up :P if u have to just do what i did...split your HDD into 2 portions and install WIN7 on the empty portion
Yep, I used to have 3 OS's on the one HDD
XP
Vista
Linux
Now I just have Windows 7 on 1 partition and games, music, movies etc etc on another partition, so if I ever re-install an OS I dont lose the data on that partiton
how do i do that :dopey:

can i keep portions with all my files with definate no harm, and then when seven is installed, just delete second half?
re
How can I operate on the same PC? thank you
Quote from nitroox :How can I operate on the same PC? thank you

you set the outgauge ip to 127.0.0.1, run LFSdash and LFS.
thank, or I define outgauge 127.0.0.1 ?where is the file edit.
Sorry my English is bad
edit the cfg.txt in the LFS root directory

Quote :OutGauge Mode 1
OutGauge Delay 1
OutGauge IP 127.0.0.1
OutGauge Port 11111 < make sure its the same as the dashboard port
OutGauge ID 0

Just a heads-up for DavidTiger. The help screen (which still is from orig VLSFD) says default port is 4000, but it is in fact 11111...maybe newbies are puzzled by this.
Yea, The default is/should be 4000 but because the ini which is with the exe has it set to 11111 then it may confuse some people

New download link with ini of 4000 for those who are getting confused over ports etc...
(new links further down)

VLFSDash0.2.3_Setup.exe
VLFSDash0.2.3_Setup.rar
(no need to uninstall older versions, setup should automatically overwrite/delete files)

GOT IT WORKING FINALLY can u remind me how to edit what the gauges show (like for XFG instead of showing 9k rpm it shows only 8k rpm)

EDIT: and/or moving the redline
i got it working too...i think it was the outgauge mode 1 i diddnt do

but is there any way to make it a little smaller, i cant really see it in my g25 gap thing...at all (its making me pretty sad :shrug
I will try to create custom sizes as well as selecting what gauges you want to appear
Selecting the max rpm for each car, etc

And any other changes, additions you guys wish to be made, i'd be happy to implement them

EDIT: Added custom RPM setting on each car
Preview Image of the Settings

EDIT2:
Naruto06: I have done your idea, maximum rpm for each car can be changed from the setup page, all saved into the ini ... Just now the redline will always be 1000rpm lower than your maximum,
(e.g. You set max rpm displayed to 9000rpm, then the redline will go from 8000-9000rpm....)

logitekg25: I have enabled the form resizing, up, down... So you can hide things you dont want... I'll put some options in the setup to enable/disable dials on my next update..

Download:
VLFSDash0.2.3_Setup.exe
VLFSDash0.2.3_Setup.rar
(as always, exe & rar are the same, just for those on slow connections, restrictive firewalls )

Cheers

YOUR F***ING AWESOME XD :huepfenic
wait, you can resize up and down to hide stuff? what i mean is like it is too big for my screen, so can i scale it down to fit in a small section of the screen but still keep everything, sorry for the confusion (still downloading the new one :razz

EDIT: runtime error 13 or something like that, why does my (insert bad word here) computer never work :gnasher: (tonight literally sucks major [insert another bad word here])
Quote from DavidTiger :...I have enabled the form resizing, up, down... So you can hide things you dont want... I'll put some options in the setup to enable/disable dials on my next update...

Looks good
Since you are enabling resizing, why don't you put in a few extra button to reset VLFSD at some "fixed" dimensions?
Like "Press this button for 800x600" or other resolutions...

Edit1:...and please add a "reset RPMs to LFS default" one.

Edit2: Anyway, I'm testing it, and it looks as it doesn't "intelligently" resize as before.
With older versions, when I moved the window to my 2nd monitor (800x600) and clicked on "remove borders", VLFSD filled the entire monitor surface, removing the borders and adapting itself. Now it just only "remove borders", showing blank areas of underlying monitor.
Naruto06: Cheers

logitekg25: Runtime Error 13... IIRC thats type mismatch.. make sure you are using the new ini, Its probably looking for the rpm settings and one isnt, found , Try This: VLFSDash.ini(right click, SaveAs)

Ripley: Sure, I'll add the various resolution buttons.... Reset rpm settings aswell
Im not sure why it doesn't resize when removing borders as I hadent editied the code for that button I'll get that working for the next update (in a few hours )

Anything more you want, just pop a post here and I'll be sure to add it if I can

-David
Progress:
Reset rpm settings button: Done
removing the borders and adapting: Done
Various resolution buttons: Doing

Can you make that "make Jenna Jameson ring at my doorbell" button ??
Quote from Ripley :Can you make that "make Jenna Jameson ring at my doorbell" button ??

can you lend me 1000 bucks

but really, can you just make it so when i resize it with the mouse it doesnt take away gauges but actually scales it down
LOL im sure the "If I can" Comes into that there

But yea Im lookong into that, its slightly hard as resizing the dials may be a problem when it comes to redrawing the dials needles etc

A little update, Im going away for a few days so I built what I was doing and continue when im back...

Updated:
max rpm and redline settings
colour settings
faster, more efficient outguage communtication with LFS

Added:
Indicator (Turn Signal) sounds
Headlight On/Off Sound

To Be Added:

More Dashboard Sounds
(Resizable form + Controls) This may not happen, Finding it hard to resize the form and all its controls at runtime.. Keeping all the dials and their needles proportional

Downloads:
VLFSDash0.2.3_Setup.exe
VLFSDash0.2.3_Setup.rar
Note: You dont have to uninstall older versions, If you have already installed click no to the registry file that comes at the end of the installation)

:laola:

i hope this gets to you before you go away, but i get when i try to start it 'run time error "13":
type mismatch'

sooo uhhhh, i dont know...but if you cant make it to resize in a scaling way no prob i found a place on my 2nd moniter that is about right
Im going away in <1 hour, just thought i'd check up....Lucky I did

I think its a problem with the ini, its reading the wrong setting for one of the values, and erroring because its the incorrect type

The installer should overwrite the ini, but it may not be doing it correctly...
I'll post the ini file and try overwriting it manually in the "\Program Files\VLFSDash\INC\" folder
Download Here: VLFSDash.ini

If it still errors then its not the ini and I'll double check the code... I'll also add error handling so I know where it errors and dont just crash

Yesterday I found a minor bug.
VLFSD was open on my main monitor 1680x1050 and I was repeatedly clicking on "remove borders"...the window was first maximized and then resized to its previous size...and so on several times...

Every time it resized down, the window was getting smaller and smaller.

PERFECT

lol just what i need

EDIT: nevermind

it is not what i need because it doesnt scale but just removes from the window, but i also tried to do the ini thing, but it did not work...i could not overwrite the file, it could not be found, so i found it manually and it asked if i want to overwrite, i said yes, but it still diddnt work...

have a good vacation
Hey, Found an open wifi connection shh!

Anyway, thats not a good thing... I checked it and it resizes, yes but hides the controls
I fixed it, it was a part i had commented out, to try to enable resizing of the forma dn controls, but didnt work and just forgot to put the code back
