Ehm...live for speed...not life...
lol top part is copy/paste from 1st post, Eraz's fault
DavidTiger:

suggestion:

the name of the car on the dash: it's nice to be somewhere on the dash, but could you maybe put it in the speedo, where normaly total milage counter is- that way, there would be more hight for the gear indicator & light section so you can set it up just under the LED bar.
i would really like to see gear light on the top, and indicator on the bottom and beneath that, you could put "remove borders" button, so that it would be in the "setup" and "exit" section.

if it's not much work, and if you understand me..

thank you

No, it cant go on top/over the guages

Hows This?
It would be nice
Like the image in my last post, you can find the download link here
(Note: Its the EXE & INI only, You must have installed the full version first)
Thx
that was fast! and again, awesome work!

thank you DavidTiger, and as you said before, to Erazotropa

.. off to some hotlaps
Thanks
Lucky I got the source from Erazotropa (Bjorn)
Other wise this would be still on page 13 and not that compatible with Z25-Z28

Anyway as always, Got a suggestion? Post it!
If its a good suggestion that a lot of users would want, I'll make it..
Otherwise I'll modify and build a custom version just for you! (and anyone else who might use it)

Thanks for your quick updates.
I noticed that now the shift light flickers (forcing it on road cars).
Maybe it's because of new different drawing method, instead of getting the "on" input from LFS ?
Yep, I should have mentioned that as a known bug...

The way it works, Is that when it recieves a packet containing the rpm then it updates the RPM dial, When the RPM needle changes position it checks the car and the rpm. If the RPM is over (lets say) 7500 then it will show the shift light ON. So because its constantly recieving these packets its updating just as fast therefore causing it to flicker...
Working on an alternative way that should stop the flickering
Tried with a timer but still has a flicker I'll get it..

Would anyone use a version of this that was of 1024x768 in size?
Making a version for me as I cant be bothered to change my secondary resolution everytime I want LFS
If people could have use of it then I'll post a download link here once finished
thats the exact size of my small moniter.....hmmm, i think tha would be even better then the small one
im getting small samsung 7" lcd with 800 x 480. will this work ok or will i also need other resolution version?

yesterday my dash stopped working! when i start it, this happens- runtime error 713. you need the following file to be installed on your machine-- MSSTDFMT.dll?!?!!? it was working fine but now this?!
ok in the install folder, go into the INC folder.. now copy the path to the MSSTDFMT.DLL

open a command prompt (cmd.exe)
type(without quotes):

"regsvr32 [path to dll]"
eg for me its:
"regsvr32 C:\Program Files\VLFSDash\INC\MSSTDFMT.DLL"

It should work then... if not post other errors..
I'll fix the setup file so that it registers it for you, Seems I missed it out
____
About the screen, I think it may be too wide for that screen... Unless it has a higher resolution?
The normal Dash is 800x600, and the smallest I can manage to get is to was 750x590. Currently making a bigger version of 1024x768

(See how easy it is to upscale )

any idea what the problem with mine is
Really no idea Works fine for me and others
Any other computers in your house to try on?

The only way I can replicate the runtime error 13 is if I modify the INI so that a value is obviously wrong...

WAIT!! Are you running the exe from within the INC folder? (Picture) So that all the ocx, dll, wav, ini files are in the same folder??
Also removing the ini file from the same folder as the exe causes the runtime error aswell
i always right click on that>send to>desktop(create shortcut) and run it through there
well 3 ways to cause runtime

1. Wrong INI Data
2. INI dont Exist
3. Running outwith the inc folder

idk what that even means

should i install to my desktop andsee if it works, then if it does, drag it to my start all programs thing
DavidTiger: did you upload that version with switched gear light and indicator? i can't seem to find it..

and what screen do you recommend for using this app? im trying to set my "working place" so this could be as close to real dashboard as possible. but it's hard since no small lcd screen has 800x600 resolution
I've experienced a little problem with the latest version (the one with the working shift indicator/top speed etc.)... In essence, the Turbo Pressure gauge lags quite badly. The other gauges work smoothly.

I'm on Win 7 Ultimate 32bit, if that matters. With the previous versions, it all worked like a charm...

(p.s. could you please make also widescreen resolution, e.g. 1280x768? That would be really nice =D )

EDIT: Problem sorted out now, IDK how, but it works xD
Quote from freddyalek90 :Turbo Pressure gauge lags quite badly

I am Demo and have no cars with turbo' so cant really see how the other gauges work properly
Glad to see its working again anyway

I'll see what I can do after I finish the 1024x768 version

VLFSDash0.2.3 Changed Layout

No idea Im using an 19' LCD monitor with 1024x768 and my other two 22' at 1280x1024

You could try but, as I say it seems to work for everyone else
I really have no clue as of why it wont work... Post your ini
Quote from BlackWidow :Hello

So i have been building a Flight Simulator for quite some time and have always wanted to build a race car simpit too. I just found your AWESOME software. The downloads above I assume are the latest edition. I downloaded both the exe and the rar files but have been unable to install them (i do know they are both the same file just saved differntly) Anyway the install gets to 40% then it stops after about 40 sec it shows "Not Responding" What am i doing wrong.

Thanks for the help and for the software.

Mike G

This is also happening with me. The installer sticks at 39%, and stops responding.

Running Windows Vista Home 32bit.
