I have a G25, but i couldnt help myself and went to buy a G27.
I was also very sceptic about it caus it doesnt look very different...
However it does feel different... a lot
-The wheel makes almost no sound now (i only hear the leather sliding threw my hands, no force feedback sounds at all compared to the g25)
-The wheel is a bit faster imo but i might be wrong.
-The wheel itself feels much better to turn and to easier to grip than the G25 which i totally didnt expect.
-The shifter is way more solid and I think they did a good job with improving that, even if it is a pitty the seq. shifting option is removed. That doesnt bother me anyway.
-The pedals are the same imo, but u can adjust them indeed if u want to.
-The Leds on the wheel are mostly show-aspect, but then again they might come in very handy. I havent been able to make them work in LFS yet, have to do some google work for that.
I think Logitech did a succesful upgrade and at first i didnt think i would say this, but it is wurth its money.
I went from G25 to G27 and have no regrets at all!
PS: I also wanted the wheel to have faster FFB, but then i realized that the wheel could perhaps not been sold on a normal market. (the G25 and G27 have already a no-kids warning and its for a reason!).
So i fear that the G25-G27 will never be updated in FFB-speed.
A wheel that turns twice the speed like the G25 (like FREX or ECCI) is simply not gaming gear for the normal market anymore. Not in price, not in safety, ...
All by all,
G27 is succesfu imo.
keep up the good job , Logitech.
