Wait a second 5haz. In an earlier post I stated that my views are mere opinion. And that opinion is based on experiences from those that would know about this very subject.
Read: Taken from the views of others with little investigation or first hand experience.
Well you think its fact don't you, why else are you here, what are you trying to prove then?
To troll most likely.
I'd like to see you prove that karting is very similar to F1 using only established facts, figures and without an over reliance on the opinions of those who are probrably biased.
"You opinions are so stupid no one agrees with that"
to
"OK, the opinions, and experiences of people who know this stuff more than anyone might agree with you somewhat, but they must be biased"
to
"right I expect a full in depth investigation into the similarities of F1 and karting. You will be required to spend thousands upon thousands travelling the world to prove your point"
OK I will do. When do you want the report Sir? After that what next?
Nah your opinions are still stupid (I mean come on, you even admitted they're not even yours!) but thats just my opinion.
Well, to be honest I'd just prefer it if you shut the **** up.
Fine, just as long as you know that you can't expect me to leave me alone until you manage to do a proper argument using the thoughts in your own skull, not some crap that someone else has simply stuffed in there that you then pass off as the gospel truth.
Alan, again please just STFU. All we've heard from you over the past few weeks is Schumacher and Las Vegas, give it a f*cking rest!
My cousin started his career in karts at 15 and was absolutely crap, then went into Formula and kicked ass. To be competative in karting, you need to be in from a young age, have nothing else on your mind apart from karts and not drive anything else and a rich daddy, thats all they do.
The only way I could provide a proper arguement is by experiencing top level karting and top level F1. Now considering I don't have a TRILLION sitting in the bank it's not really gonna happen is it?
All we can rely upon is the experience and opinions of others who have experienced F1 and top flight karting. Now having spoken to these people and seen what they had to say I formed an opinion based on what they said because that's all we've got to go on.
I don't see you doing anything to back up your point of view.
Shut up then. Or at least stop trying to claim victory all the time.
My own experince of racing cars in a field of smarmy recently graduated kartors with over inflated egos and pushy dads. The net result of them trying to adapt to cars was an embarrasing amount of red flags and a lot of bad press. (FYI, I had the lowest DNF rate of the entire field by the end of the season).
I've seen the exact same thing happen the other way round as exclusively car drivers come into karting with the exact same attitude, causing red flags, crashing, getting huffy. I am not going to base my opinion on car drivers through that experience, I am not that stupid.
@Pearcy, while Bradshaw has done well has has avoided the traditional classes that the top talent karters move into with an eye on F1. F Renault/F3 etc... So to say he did crap in karts and then awesome in cars is slightly misleading. Because karting isn't just 'karting' and car racing isn't just 'car racing'. There are different levels and standards.
What we are discussing here is the highest levels of motorsport. NOT NATIONAL OR CLUB LEVEL.
Because he didn't have the budget, he kicked Alex Brundle and Jolyon Palmers ass, both sons of F1 drivers that are now racing in F2... And beat plenty of drivers that were good in karts and now he's in tintops and enjoying it so i doubt he'll go back to S-S now...
1. Your making sweeping generalisations about drivers you know NOTHING ABOUT. You don't know the history of the drivers you accuse of being all ego. They are just karters, nothing more nothing less. It's huge ignorance on your part.
My point is that I don't look at a few examples of car drivers coming into karting and being rubbish and then making a sweeping statement.
2. Your missing my point. Pearcy stated his cousin did crap in karts and then well in cars. But both were on a national level.
What we are discussing is the top levels of karting and the top levels of car racing.
Alex Brundle wasn't a top karter neither was Joylon Palmer. Brundle raced some club level stuff but nothing more. Club level junior rotax racing is a MILLION miles way from top flight senior KZ/KF racing. it's liek comparing MiniMoto and MotoGP. So
The best karters generally move into F BMW/F Renault/F3. Kids like Bianchi/Hulkenberg/Hamilton/ etc.... That's the level I am talking about. That's where this debate is. Not club level mishmashy stuff
