Skateboarding.

No. I BMX.

I used to skate, but since I moved over to England it kind of faded away.

Too old now. I had one of the rare 1965 era Hobie fiberglass skateboards that I bought back in 1967. That one had the inserts used to hold the trucks come out, but I still have the later 1975 version of that board.
Not into that personally. Few years back, tryed to skate too - fell over and friend rolled over my little finger with another skateboard. Bad memories ...
More of a 'fruit booter' assuming your using it in a jokingly manner. Aggressive inline-skating for those that don't know the term. It is tossed by skateboarders, some as insult and others for fun - depending on tone. But I get along with a lot of skateboarders, afterall the two sports/activities are similar at some level, even if the equipment and techniques are different.

Anyways, my tip for you would be to find out if you enjoy it. If so, stick with it. And keep practicing. I can't give you tips on the board, but practicing constantly is the way to improve. Find what you like about it; half-pipe? ramps? flat ground perhaps? or rails? Many different styles suit different people. Do some research on proper equipment care, I got lucky and did this as a school project, but that research paid off that I would recommend doing it even if it isn't for school (assuming you enjoy and plan on doing this for some time). It helped me make wheels last longer, bearings faster and better and last longer etc. Of course, this stuff helped more with the long run.

My final tip, wear pads. Don't think it's stupid or care about the looks. When you can get back up roll after roll, you will appreciate it. Also you will tend to have a bit more confidence - of course don't go overboard with the confidence level. Stay within your limits, play it smart. Do try new things, even if inherently dangerous - it is a rush and can be done. But NEVER do them without working up the basic skills and have a solid understanding of what needs to be done. Even something you've done 1000's of times can still go wrong.
I skate but on roller blades. I never had enough patience and passion to learn the skateboard.
Oooh.. i've skated from around late elementary school, till the end of highschool.. i loved every second of it, but unfortunately i wasn't that good. Basic ollie's and stuff was all i knew, never ever did i succesfully did any kind of flip.. It really bugged me, but that didn't stoped me from skating.. I don't know why i stopped eventually..
@ Boris - Then don't stop. Keep at it I've gone to parks well after highschool/college etc and while it is different, the same enjoyment is there - likely with different, possibly younger people; but you can think of yourself as a mentor- assuming your effecting people in a positive way that is what matters. Try keeping someone from going too far over there experience level, or other things. Have fun.

I don't know, these new generations are crazy, who could i mentor with my ollie-only expertise.. It's been quite a few years since i've stopped so..
I don't necessarily mean mentor with tricks and tips towards skateboarding. Just building a relationship and having a positive impact can be beneficial to both the "kid" and the mentor.

*I use the term kid, but teen, young adult and others can certainly fit.
I just started (as in like 2 months ago) being comfortable enough on a board to go for rides along the path by my local river. Thinking of building a board this summer, though I'll likely build a long board or a short board 'cause I basically just go cruisin', nowhere near the comfort or confidence level to attempt even an ollie.
I Longboard over here...It' quite nice with 49 inches of wood beneath you feet at 35 mph xD

I used to skate a bit, before I moved to the city. My best trick was a kickflip- which I could pull only about 25% of the time anyway. Skating's good fun but the ground is so unforgiving. Surfing is scarier but atleast the landings are softer..

Once I did a switch FS 900°, I decided skateboarding wasn't my thing.

Then I started programming.

Was it by chance over an Apple product? Or do you mean on Skate with your PS3?
Used to skate quite frequently untill I nearly broke my ankle. And then I realized I will break something sooner or later and quit. Yes that's noobish but I just don't like hospitals
Oddly I've broken both wrists multiple times, but never while skating.
