LFS servers now support an opening message when you join a server. There is nothing wrong in setting time limits either way, in my opinion, and in inviting to leave if you're too fast or you're too slow for the server. It happened to me too. In my case, the request to leave a "pro server" for being too slow was extremely rude: I had absolutely no idea at all I was on a "pro server"... It was nowhere mentioned! But hey, it's their server, not mine. But I had a laugh, at least, because they failed to understand a basic concept: you're professional because you make a living out of something, not because you're good at that thing
For me it's okay if someone wants to even out skills in races, there's nothing wrong with that. But there are a lot of better ways to achieve that than banning and aggressively requesting for people to leave with the threat of banning them. I would never join a server if my skills were not up to par with the admins' desires. I don't pay for that server, they pay. But politeness and some preventive opening message could do some very big difference.
And by the way, was that an administrative ban or a vote ban? I don't think Eagle Race Team should be considered - as a whole - responsible for a vote ban, unless members of the team voted, of course.
And finally it's a pity that replays do not show votes, since bans and kicks are a controversial issue, and having that kind of information available could help, sometimes.
