Quote from brandons48 :Damn.

I've got all this first car + insurance crap to look forward to in a year or two.

1l shitbox here I come!

Go the commercial vehicle route. You don't get all of the same insurance perks, but the insurance is really cheap so you can afford to do business. And it still leaves you with some cool options of vehicles. VW Caddies, or a 2WD mini trucks (Rangers and the like) which you can then slam, etc. It's all good.
how many cars do you own?!?!
Quote from danowat :Looks like an Old Ford Granada/Cortina with the back lopped off to me .

Dan,

Looks like a 1972 El Camino/with no balls

Quote from AtomAnt :He means how many cars run

Not exactly a role model for positivity are you?

All the cars I have owned have run until sold with the exception of the XJ40 which blew a head gasket.

I love holland, only 100euro insurance a year and no road tax for my bmw 320i e30.

Only bad thing is that it's not very economical when i drive it.

Damn you. Although the repair bills will make up for the lack of taxes.
Ok uhmm, in 5 months i paid a whopping total of 15 euros for repairs...
I do nee to buy some cheap small things though, and maybe new tires for the winter.
Quote from zeugnimod :Wow, you definitely have too much money.

He spent like 40k+ USDls in too many cars instead of buying a new one (BMW or wahtever).
I dont think he has a LOT
I know some guys at my work, they drive jaguars and bmw 7 series but they dont have alot of money. They are just very smart.
If you can maintain it yourself it's not that expensive to run one.
Well i haven't done anything to it, last friday it went to the garage and it cost me 15 euro.

Yeah, same here. About 110 euros insurance for my ex-535i and my 325i. And if I write my bimmer on my parents name, insurance will be about 25 euros per year, which I most likely will do on my next car. :P
Quote from brandons48 :Hey now, that's a pretty neat idea

Plenty of room for anything I might be lugging around.

(Certainly nothing illegal, of course... )

It is the road I went down. I could have got a Ford Escort Estate 1.8D insured full comp for two thousand five hundred of my Great British Pounds. Or get the Ford Escort 55 Van 1.8D insured full comp for five hundred of my Great British Pounds.

I know what I'd rather spend.

Mine is already on my fathers name as his second car.

Why the hell would you get full comp insurance? That's too expensive for such a cheap car.

My first car :)
