I don't see any HDR in those pics, Tomba. I see heightened black levels & contrast, sure, but no tonemapping.

I know, looked like a hdr gone wrong edit at first. Didn't think too much. I already mentioned it must be the clarity

Can any of you guys help with my Camera? It's a FujiFilm Finepix F601. I've had it a long time now, and it has served me well. Infact, I really like it as it can produce some pretty good quality shots, even by todays standards.

The only problem is that I went to turn it on the other day, and something went wrong. The lens came out as normal and it beeped like normal, then the Camera shut down and the lens stuck out. So, I put it on charge and switched it back on, and the lens went back in and the Camera said "please set time and date". So I assumed it was the battery at fault, as the Camera shut down again soon after attempting to enter the date/time.

I bought some new batteries off of eBay. They are not official FujiFilm batterys, but are made for my Camera. They are NP/60 3.7volts, 1500mah. The ones originally in the Camera were 1035mah. The output is the same. I'm doubtful these new batteries are causing the problem.

Any ideas on what else could be causing this issue, and whether I can save my trusty ol' girl?

Today, i had to take my K-5 to service, Low pass filter/sensor problems. So i cried for a while, and then did some macro with my good old k-m, lucky i still have it. Noticed some specs on it's sensor as well, but it was nothing compared to this: Pinhole shot from the K-5

Thank you for the advice, but I am not able to reset all functions as the Camera does not turn on at all. I would need power to reset it, no?

You are right

Did you have a good look at the contacts in the battery compartment? maybe clean them if they need it, or if you can adjust the spring a bit? other than that I'm out of ideas.

Its sad when loved equipment fails.

Will give that a try. The Camera randomly started up Today. It worked for about 10 minutes with everything running ok, then froze out on me as usual with all the lights stuck on and the lense popped out. I now cannot get it to start up again to retract the lense.

I will have to try and find a local Fuji shop and get them to take a looksie.

Little update on one of my photos . I passed on this photo



to a friend who wanted to send it in with his story to the daily mail couple days ago and well yesterday it was used in the paper . He has also told me i will be getting a cash payment for the photo so thats a bonus i just have to w8 a couple weeks. Fist time i have every had a photo printed in anything

My K-5 is back! Had a little walk about with it, tested it's WR capabilities, it was snowing pretty heavily. All at ISO 4000

Well lets say I would like to get into photography since I don't really have anything interesting to to in my spare time.
I have being thinking trying to get a good DSLR camera for a not so high cost.

I'm just a starter and think in my case spending to much is not a good thing.
I know that a good camera is not really cheap, but I don't think I should spend a whole lot for something when I don't even know if I like it.?
