You are judging a book by its cover here. The program isn't necessarily downloaded just to cheat. You can use it on many different programs, not just games.
That's his last result before being banned. Sure, he won, but he is almost a half a second off the fastest time on a track that is wide open 24/7. So what type of cheat could possibly be there?
He's used the knife to kill before, yet still keeps it on his person. The impartial bystander will always suspect he'll use it again unless he gets rid of it.
Right, because your the right person to comment on if he has grown up or not. Zomg he has cheat engine installed... he is cheating because he used speedhax in lfs 10 years ago!!!
As said above, cheat engine can be used for lots of things, not just iracing.. It can be used for changing the steering lock in LFS I believe, to help drifting.
Gah, updated my subscription, done a race in the mx5 and stupid me forgot to recalibrate my brake pedal.... first corner, lock, slide, spin off..... Then smacked someone up the swanny cos they braked soon than I thought they were going to...
on the Arox issue I am of the same opinion as Moose
I think people are judged on thier history (not like a book and its cover) meaning people who have been or at least been caught cheating in the past are IMO more likely to cheat again and will always be labled by some as "cheats"
Its the same story with cutters you see the same people time and time again cutting corners of certain tracks, you issue them a penalty and explain what they are doing wrong, then 5 mins later when they think no one is looking they just go back to cutting again.
With the internet allowing users to be almost annomous, trust is one thing it seems people give way too lightly, go ahead if you want and trust that someone has "grown up" but do you really know them that well?
It's always nice to see the ignorant people show themselves up
Arox has got a bit better but still managed to get himself banned from OWRL, but he'll always be a bit dim that way. :dunce:
As for cheat engine, I have it installed - so what? If it was called LFS tweak or ArtMoney would any of you actually be bothered? Of course not, yet that's what it is and it does exactly the same job. We created the MoE GT0 cars, the LMP, and other tweaked cars using ArtMoney, which is a memory editor just like cheat engine, but of course you need to know which of the hundreds of thousands of memory addresses to edit to get a value in game changed. Arox is hardly brain of Norway, so I doubt he'd figured out how to hack iRacing
Pretty depressing reading this thread and seeing "guilty unless proven innocent" because they just label someone without knowing the actual situation.
I don't even like arox (I blocked him on my messengers, sorry arox hehe) but he got suspended not for cheating, but for having the process running. You can simply use the program as a tweak in LFS (How do you think those tweaks are created?). When you close the program it minimizes to the tool tray, so the process is still running. He could have simply run a race, iR checks his processes to see that exe is running (not connected to iR in anyway), and suspends him. Simple as that. Reading some of your posts on here makes me think you guys work for FoxNews.
Sorry, I do have a bee in my bonnet about online cheating. I despise cheats..they are the lowest of the low and ruin so many online games for the majority of honest gamers. I cant trust anyone that's cheated before not to do it again.
OK, I admit my ignorance of Cheat Engine. Apologies to any innocent user of this program.
lol! How old are you? There's nothing like being called "Son" by a 17 year old to raise a smile.
Go away kid.
True, I generally hate that "guilty until proven innocent" attitude. When it comes to cheats though I do tend to have a "guilty when proven guilty before" attitude.
I'm about as far away from a FOX News person as it's possible to get btw
Oh same here, trust me. I despise cheaters, but I doubt Arox has the brain power to work through Cheat Engine in order to hack iRacing. It's not simple, or else anyone could do it. Plus just by looking at the results you can clearly see he didn't use it. Using a RAM cheat (which is what was used before) showed an obvious increase in speed. At a place like Daytona (his last race) it would be well obvious. Showing that his fastest lap was .5 off the fastest lap of the race is enough evidence in my mind to see he clearly wasn't using anything fancy.
Anyways, this is the iRacing, so lets keep the discussion on that matter. Anyone going to try this challenge out?
anyone else hear the landon interview on iracing today ? interestig what he has to say about the cars and tracks. basically the tracks are spot on but the cars are mixed, the grip apparently is spot on to the extent that he used exactly the same turn in / lift points at charlotte as he uses in iracing and qualified 12th with his first flying lap but the physics and setup options to achieve that grip are different, in particular the amount of setup options compared to real life but iracing has helped him with setting up the real car. all of which fits in with what iracing have been saying about the tyre model and how the new one should change things.
I think it's always hard for real drivers to have a good opinion on how 'realistic' sim games are, as coming from a race car with tons of feedback and feel to a sim with hardly any of that, it will always feel pretty rubbish to them.
The best opinions we can get are people who have raced on sims for years, are good at it and then go and jump into a race car (Huttu, for example). They will immediately be able to compare the sim to the car, without their judgement being clouded by the lack of feedback in a sim.
Many real life drivers on the oval side have complained about the grip levels on the tires. At low speed there is none (which Parker Kligermann, real life NASCAR driver pointed out more than enough). Overall the (sim) cars feel like they have no grip, yet are faster than the real life cars.
Sadly I've heard Parker go on and on about the tire model, as we're in the same vent.
I need to get myself out of the A Legend and into the truck soon or I think I'l lose the plot, it's full of absolutely braindead children and idiots with no race craft. Seriously, full of 12 - 14 year olds who think they are the best thing since sliced bread because their ****ing rich 'mom' bought him a kart which gives him the right to act like a retard who's better than everyone else. I'm sick of the social side of the legends, hopefully the trucks are better.
Rant over, going to buy the Mazda and Zandvoort shortly, partly for next week's 'Celtic' league race, and partly because i'm not far from SR 4.0 Class D on the road side and i'l be able to drive it soon, hopefully.
Also, the Street Stock car is being released on 23rd Dec, I can only assume Spa will be out the same day. Can't wait.
Trucks can be messy because it's the entrylevel fast oval car, I'd rather drive either LM or go straight to Impala B which is pretty fast but drives much more like a normal racecar.
