At the start maybe, because you can boost the turbo. Out of corners the FZR is better than the FXR because it has no turbo lag and not such a tendency to understeer.
Yes, that's true. The only place where FXR is better than FZR/XRR is rallyX. It's simply not competitive on tarmac, quite unlike to real life racing where AWD owns all.
There are manual clutches in F1 cars just they don't use it much because of all the fancy gadgets.
I remember last season Montoya was instructed to go by his pit man but the fuel hose got stuck and he had said afterwards, "It was lucky I still had my hand on the clutch so I could bring it to a stop quicker" or something along that lines.
aye, a "neutral" button on the stearing wheel, usually colours blue, I believe. A quick google search for an F1 wheel should clear it up - but I can't be bothered ...
When i said that you don't have a manual clutch, in lots more words, is this:
In a formula one car, you do not have a clutch, like you have in a road car, to shift gears. You squeeze on the paddle and it does the job. At least i think it is this way. There IS a clutch control device of some sort, but it is used sparingly and, with the exception of pitting, in emergencies. Therefore, it is not realistic to use an analog clutch control in LFS to launch the BF1.
ffs, guys ... you COULD have guessed that that's what i meant
It used to be the case that flooring it before a start would significantly damage your motor. It would also be damaged over a longer 10 or 20 lap race if you disabled throttle cut for upshifting. The damage model might eventually return to that level one day.
I hope it doesn't, or at least they give us an adjustable rev limiter. Don't know of any production car that would have the limiter set past the point where damage occurs in a hurry...
I dunno, I try to hit the accelerator as soon as the light turns green.
I really don't think this gives any sort a advantage... but when you rev the car beforehand, the revs drop on green anyways.
I dunno... I don't know (or care) if doing that is efficient or not... It's just really cool when you hit it just right... and besides, when half the field
gets taken out on T-1 anyways, I just don't see where it matters
Finally got a good launch in the XRR. I had been only reving to 6-7000 rpm on pre-start. I found that I've got to over-rev the engine (9000+ rpm) to get a good launch. Which sucks because I probably had engine damage added by trying to do that.
Too bad that despite having a perfect XRR-start, you end up damaging your engine and still drop 6 pos down when the grid full of FZRs accelerate faster than you.
