Doesn't work like that though. The car has to be registered in the country you drive it in, and that costs money. Here, the registration fee is 180% of the cars price. Driving it all the way from UAE will just cost a lot of gas

I know someone who sold his 4 year old ML450 at 25% of factory price then bought a brand new one......just because the model has been updated.

Yup, can't think of any other reason than being dumb.

agreed. for example say a car costs 18000 euro here, u have to pay two taxes, one around 2000€ and another that raises the car price and is like 4800€... thats why they're so expensive

Ouch.

One aspect of motoring in the United Kingdom that is actually affordable:

Quote :Vehicles registered and taxed for the first time on the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) records will be required to pay a fee of £55.00.

as long as you can keep the motor running at $9 per gallon.

all of western europe/scandinavia is extraordinarily anti-car. I love to drive it is one of my all-time favorite things to do whether I'm going somewhere or nowhere at all. I go on a joyride at least 3 times a week and I love that my country doesn't punish me for it.

Nyoxx did you figure out which car you're getting?

taking into consideration the citroen ds3 with 150 hp, the megane and the polo. if i like the dsg im getting the polo, if not i gotta decide between the ds3 or the megane.

btw its impossible to keep it at 9$ per gallon since ...
1 galon = 3.78 liters

and 1 liter = 1.58€ meaning that 0.26 galon is 2.23$ lol
I am curious about petrol price in the US.
Right now in Bulgaria petrol will reach 1.3E/l
That's 4.92Eur/US Gal
That's roughly 7$/Gal
What's the petrol price in the USA?
Quote from flymike91 :
I know that United Arab Emirates has new car prices that are lower than the US. I would definitely drive from UAE to anywhere in Europe to save ~20,000 euros.

Brand new Volkswagen prices start from ~10,000 euros for example (here).
Quote from wolfshark :Yeah, thanks for pointing that, Mr. Obvious

Well if it were that obvious, how come you didn't use it?
its around 3.50-4.50/gal of the "super"
its over 8$/gal of the 95 gas in hungary.start counting.. u make around 600$/month if u have a good job. how cool is that?
