Breaking my thumbs off
Did some races today in the FZR and FXR on Aston and BL. When I used my wheel it felt like I was going to break my thumbs because of the movement of the wheel due to Force Feedback (without it I can't 'feel' the car).

Got really bad when I was in the FXR on Blackwood, all the sudden the wheel would just start shaking heavily when going flat-out or braking. I couldn't keep the wheel stationary because of the power used to move it (FF set to 85). I had some problems with this before (a week ago or so..., before any test patch) but not anywhere near this strength.

My thumbs still hurt like hell even though it's been like two and a half hours since I last raced. Maybe I should add a deadzone near the center to get rid of this stuff.

While I'm on the subject, I have a problem with the control of the car since I installed the test-patches, I get massive understeer on the low-power cars, even at low speeds, making me very slow. All the high power cars is giving me a great deal of oversteer no matter what speed I'm at, also have a lot of trouble regaining control of the car once it oversteers, it's like when driving with a keyboard without actually paying attention to what you are doing.

Maybe a sign that the wheel is giving up? It's like six years old now. Considering how stuff breaks for me it's surprising that it has held for so long without breaking (actually it is the only piece of hardware that still works and haven't been replaced in my house...)

I know what shaking FF is like, totally undrivable but then again I am using the wheel that I replaced because it was broken because my new wheel has also broken
Test patches didn't change any physics, so if you are sliding around more than usuall, its not about LFS. Or maybe the new speedo makes you confused

I'm far from a bodybuilder (VERY far) but I always have FF on 100% in the Profiler and LFS without problems. The best way is to grip the wheel like hell but it is absolutely knackering. However I can't imagine using it without this FF- OutRun 2006 feels insanely light because of this.
I use 200% in LFS and 150% in the profiler, and I have no problems at all with too heavy FF I use a DFP btw
I prefer a lighter force feedback because if the FF is high I tend to jerk the wheel in a reaction and therefore spin the car. I suppose it's personal preference but if it's "breaking" your thumbs then maybe you should lower the setting?

For us DFP users, feel lucky. Manhandle a XRT around KY NAT REV for 20 laps and then you know what pain is!

Im worried about when i get a G25, with 2 motors, that will be armwork....
For my momo I use 200% force in-game and on the wingman settings its at 95% with no centering spring force. Works quite well I can feel the road, my arms are not brital I guess

15 laps around AS Historic in the FO8 will make you pretty tired, too. I think I tense up when I drive that car or something, I can feel it in my arms after one lap...

I drive with 100%cp and 100%lfs no centre spring.

Yes the FF can be brutal at times but this just means you need to learn to work with the FF and not against it. When the wheel is fighting you it is because your have got tge car out of shape. Let the wheel show you what is wrong and then fight the wheel to get back in shape.

Even on high loads I never really grip the wheel too hard and use light pressure most of the time.
