Why all these UNCONFIRMED drivers in the entry list?

If they cant race then the reserves should get promoted.

I read a previous post of people reserveing places for friends or team mates, this is'nt fair . If you have no entry form from a driver then they should not be on the list at all.

you have four unused slots at the mo why should you wait on them to make up there mind whilst many drivers wait in the wings with thier fingers crossed hopeing to get a race?
I support that. Why should people who aren't willing to devote 10 minutes to fill out a form even though they had several days time be preferred over other people who actually take an effort to participate?
I think there should be a deadline within the next days and after that all unconfirmed drivers are removed from the list.

Vain
I appreciate your angst, firstly it needs to be understood that the situation of reserving spaces for team mates was actually more a case of reserving numbers - I didn't foresee that this series would fill up so quickly and be in such high demand - after that it just sort of happened.

I just did not anticipate the league drawing this much interest at this stage. For this I appologise, however, if we didn't allow a few days leeway for team mates we'd have no teams at all and that could loose us an entire championship.

If one championship doesn't go to the wire the series will generate less interest, and this is a spectator orientated event to try and broaden the appeal of sim racing, having a team championship is therefore quite important to us.

Giving a few days so that two mates can race together struck me as reasonable and helps to encourage teams enter the league. Aside from that it is first come first served.

I would also like to point out that this only describes 2 remaining entries. The other unconfirmed entries are because of errata on entry forms so these drivers have met your entry criterea - they just havn't met mine.

I hope that clears up any confusion over the matter.

Actually let me explain it again a bit clearer.

A lot of drivers contact me and ask for a number and car etc. before doing their form, this is the correct entry process. If I give out a car at this stage and then give it to somebody else because their form arrived it could result in one application going backwards and forwards and never making it in in time - even though they may have applied near the start.

The space, and this was for all of you, was always given on first contact but is only confirmed when I get the entry form.
Applied *crossing fingers*
Is everyone that applied on the waiting/reserve list?

Or even better, am I on it? :P
Updated earlier tonight: http://www.simtouringcarcup.com/Entries.html
I've started a waiting list and have a few emails to process yet, but otherwise it is complete.

I'm taking a break from STCC tomorrow, I bought a DVD recorder today to run video straight onto disk for better quality and now it's nearly 11pm and it's still in the box.

So all out standing emails will be replied too Friday.

EDIT: Ah wait, th84 you are shown as unconfirmed because i've not [knowingly] had an entry form for you, your the 1st on the reserve list but you said FXO only.
Yea, i didnt do the entry form yet. I wasnt sure if i needed too, but i will do it tonight and when you get back on Friday, you should have it. The FXO is the only one i feel that i would be competitive in, thats why i am FXO only Thanks for the quick response.
Site down?
I think so it was fine this morning but all my sites and email is down and they're all stored on the same server... I guess this is the 1% that isn't included in the uptime on all the glossy brochures ...
I just spoke to them and it should be back soon, they're going to press the big red magic button on the front
Anyone willing to switch from RB4 to XRT? I would like to run with my teammates =)
usually I would have accepted that offer, but I have gotten so used to RB4 now.

Mike Hayward from UKCT would like to switch from RB4 to XRT with you if it's okay with Becky.

Becky, nod or shake?
Sure you can swap cars *boggle* not sure it's the strategic thing to do for the Muroc team given the way the points and heat system work, but probably easier for setups.

Send in your skins and i'll update the entry list.

BTW: The series does have it's own forums - not that I mind the exposure here, but if you are not registered you're missing out .

Thats one big reason why I want to change, because of setups. I don't really care about points so much as having fun swapping paint with my teammates =) I will work out the skin I would be glad to switch SamH =)
Becky, since about the last 8 hours or so, when I click on the Forum link on the STCC page, I get this error : Error: Unable to connect to MySQL server. MySQL reported: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2).
Not too sure if this is on my end or the forums' server.
The web server has fallen over a few times this week, all of these drop outs have occurred overnight. The first two where solved by pressing the big red magic button on the front and it loooks to me that this has broken the SQL server in some way and now it needs rebuilding/reinstalling.

From my experience of hosts when a server goes down it keeps going down for a while then eventually they sort it out and you get that 99% uptime the brochure told you about .
The site is down for the 4th time this week, i've spoken to the hosts and it turns out the server has been infected with a trojan. It's a linux server so clearing it isn't just a case of system restore :/. They are working to clear it folks, so please bear with it and we'll be back up and running soon.
hi, i heard you say that youre never organising another league, so does this mean that the stcc will not be ran next year? or just it will be ran by other people. theres no chance of me entereing a league atm. (im still a noob)

Holy, my concept of reality has been shattered, a Linux server... with.. a.. Virus...

Woah, well good to know that it will be fixed

*goes and crys in a corner, Linux... Virus... Impossible...*

If I did it again, I would do it differently. Although the mad organisational rush is over now for a few weeks (it will hot up again after the first race) for about two weeks I didn't get to sleep until 1-2am, and it took over some work time too. You see I thought, dealing with only 20 odd drivers or so, it woudn't be worth automating the administration.

I was wrong.

The real test will come after the first round though, checking the replays and editing/producing the broadcast footage.
well if it is ran again next year, let me know. i might be up 2 competing standard by then i hope. no problems
Hey Becky, just wondering if you were able to get my entry form in the PM I sent you.
My computer is toast. We had a thunderstorm that came through last week that dropped power a few times in a couple minutes causing my computer to crash a couple times. It was able to go another week but then the power supply let go and fried everything it was connected to... Motherboard, processor, video cards, hard drives... my whole system, about 3 grand worth went up in a fizzle. It was on a surge protector but that only delayed the innevitable. I don't know what insurance will do but hopefully they will cover it, I put alot of money into my system

RIP Viper93's Computer
Athlon64 3800
2 gig of low latency DDR overclocking ram
dual raptor 10k HHD's
Dual 6600GT's video cards
Sound Blaster Audigy2 Platnium
Klipsh 5.1 Surround Sound
Zahlmann rezerator 1 Plus liquid cooling system
MGE "Viper' case

That being said I will not be racing for a while, maybe a long while, I don't know how long it will take to get another computer up and running, I don't have the funds to build a new one right now.
