blocking is unacceptable

I only did it because the race was ended anyways, and he had just done is first lap... So it's not really the same as crashing someone in race that isn't over yet.

But yes, the way he blocked me was unacceptable.
Intentionally wrecking somebody is uncool, regardless of the reason or the "justification". One of the problems is that people get knocked out of a race for a perceived slight. I had a ban vote initiated against me the other night because I closed the door another driver when he was trying to pass into a corner. He hit me from behind, crashed, and then voted to have me banned. It almost got be banned because of the lemmings that voted yes without knowing why the ban vote was initiated.

Another example was at SO Classic on the start. I went down the middle of the track through the sweeper under the bridge with a car on either side of me. The outraced the guy on the inside to the first 90 degree turn (T2?) who deliberately rammed me from behind because, according to him, I did not give him enough room.

Intentional wrecking...always a bad thing. Always.
once again, wrecking is different from firing.

the people u raced in those circumstances sound like idiots.
I see a few names in this thread that should be added to the wrecker barricade.
This thread has turned into a joke. Lets leave personal insults away from here.

I'm sad that you feel that away about the community.

I can only say that not everyone is like that. Sure we all get pumped up and annoyed when things don't go our way, but at the end of the day the S2 community is good at heart.

Buy S2, you won't regret it.

TBH Phlos is the most dangerous racer I've ever come across in S2. I have no problem with him off the track but on the track I normally stay well clear
Thats what I hate too tho, when people are disrespectful, my rule of thumb is unless they have done something to lose respect from me, is to treat them with respect. Then other people have even more respect then those people from me, for instance, if I'm racing one of the higher respect people, I'll usually battle them that much harder, but if its a normal person, just race normal, and be sure to not do something stupid. Finally, if its a person that has completely lost all respect from me, I'll usually block til the cows come home, and get him frustrated.

and im sorry but most of you are total idiots, why dont u read whats being said? My statement was, if a backmarker is blocking and weaving ill push them wide (fire) not i fire every backmarker i come up to.

Straight from Ayrton Senna's school!

I have to agree though. I read that once in Formula 1, in Estoril 1990, Philippe Alliot was about to be lapped by the much faster Nigel Mansell on his Ferrari.

Alliot held Mansell for like TEN laps. No joke. Alliot was well known as a mobile chicane, plus he didn't know what a blue flag was. And he was throwing chops at Mansell!

Mansell got angry, and took Alliot out of the race! Apparently he intentionally tapped into one of his rear wheels when he was going for a corner and made him spin out. The stewards didn't punish Mansell, and with good reasoning!
I don't care how much someone is deliberately blocking you, if you're fast enough to catch them you should be a decent enough driver to pass them safely or give them a light tap to get them offline without punting them off the track. Ramming some fool on purpose and ruining their race will just get you a bad reputation in the community (as seen in this thread), especially if you openly admit to deliberate ramming and try to justify it (hurling personal insults at other LFS players won't lift your standing much either). Tell your blocker mate after the race about blue flags and give him a roasting if you want - but if you've wrecked him don't expect him to care what you say. It doesn't matter if the fool wasn't racing fair, if you're the one who takes him out on purpose, no racer in their right mind should respect that and anyone who presses [1] against you is justified imho.

It's LFS, it's a computer game (SIM!), and some people should just grow up ffs - both blockers (you're slow, you're being lapped - let them pass already) AND rammers (you're a fast driver - doesn't mean you're a good racer. Newbs and gits are always a part of online gaming so deal with it - better ways to deal with idiots than lowering yourself and indulging in petty vengeance).
is the above aimed at me? if it is, once AGAIN wrecking is different to firing, and if someone is swerving all over the track u CANT pass them
i dont think it is aimed at me tho.

u know what i see alot of in LFS, some hotlapper guys drive round and because they are on a fast lap they dont want to OVERTAKE the backmarker, they want the backmarker to come to a stop as to not ruin their lap. now that IS silly.
My aim's not that good ayrton It's intended as general commentary - but if some people do take it personally it merely confirms their guilty conscience
Sometimes when in saloons and hatchbacks I have flashed my lights at slower drivers, they already have the blue flag message, the flashing light tells them i'm ready to move now. It's a request without being rude, and it goes directly to the driver concerned. It's also used in some real racing series.

I've only had a couple of blue flag message spammers in LFS, i've SEEN plenty, but the times when somebody has spammed blue flag messages at me I havn't had blue flag text onscreen or been able to see a car in my mirrors yet. In all cases i've only realised that the blue flag spam was aimed at me long after the event.

One driver apparently had spammed messages at me for a lap, and eventually as he got close and I let him through he tripped over me... Blaming me, the replay suggested he may have been attempting one such tap as described above when I moved aside.

Anyway the net result was he screamed at me for ignoring the blue flag message, which I only got for the first time going into the bend he hit me on, and said he had been calling blue flag messages for ages because I had blocked him - and the replay showed he was several seconds behind on track.

The saddest part is, this was a well known league racer with a reputation for being fast. I shan't be naming names, but I will say it was in prep for the OWRL race at Fern Bay Gold so the culprit knows who he is.

The result: We both crashed. We both lost time.

And I would still do exactly the same again...
nah hankstar! i was just wondering why u were sayin it to me (which u werent but i thought u might have been)

i have no guilty conscience!!
