wigger speak, please qoute where I used that so called speak. Sorry that I am german and my english isn't as perfext as yours

are you the only FM member yeah? where did i say anything about you speaking like that?

"one of the FM Members talks using so called "wigger" speak"

Not "The all powerful Torben uses wigger speak", i do talk about other people you know.
Quote from DeKo :I know why i got banned, hence why i put "seems like somebody has a grudge" in my post. Yes i got banned for nothing, but judging by the other people requesting to get banned, ill just get a reply "its our server, F*ck off" as usual

The problem is, that we have some people coming to the forums complaing they got banned for nothing. When we then show them the replay where you see waht they got the ban for, they often started calling us names. A replay is a good instrument to show you are "innocent". But posting in our forums : "Why the **** did I got banned you mother*****". Im mean, sure someone like that can **** off.. We dont want such persons.

Sorry, I got your post wrong then, I thought that another one, one from FM was meant to me, as I posted as the last FM in this thread a couple of times..

As i was saying, i have a fat chance in hell of getting unbanned. Seeing as Plaztiman is on a lifelong period and is ban happy, no chance Show me a replay where i was "blocking, swearing, breaking every rule under the sun" and ill let it lie.
This thread has changed both mine and many other peoples opinions on parts of this community. It is an absolute joke.

Some peoples attitudes are disgusting. I suggest if you can't post constructive criticism and/or take criticism on the chin, then don't bother posting in a discussion forum.

I have seen some stupid posts in this thread and with all due respect to you FM guys, in general the way you have responded to feedback (which you wanted) has been nothing short of disgraceful.

Language barrier or not, you "post tone" can still be picked up. I understand that people get annoyed with certain things and I accept it's not totally your fault, but you need to look at yourselves a little bit more, before passing all the blame onto other people.

Now lets move on guys.

Chris
after reading this thread, i would like to change my vote.

you have to see that you guys are somehow representing your team in this thread.
better manners and a little more reflection on your own posts could have definately improved your reputation. instead you mostly answered in a quiet immature way and managed to alienate even the most understanding users.

From what I know of Tristan and Becky they are not the types of drivers to stand around on a track getting in peoples way as appears to be FMs major gripe.

Can't say I've ever joined the server so I can't offer any more of an opinion than that I'm afraid.
It's time I admitted to my shameful past. I used to race the V8 on the FM Oval server quite a lot. I put up with the annoying "XXXX has made a new PB" and other messages, but only because when I commented on them I was kicked. Then things started to get worse. I pitted during a race and waited IN MY PIT BOX for the race to finish, I was given a temporary ban for "sitting in the track". That really got on my nerves. After a while I decided it was time to forgive and forgot, and headed back into the server. It was horrible, it's impossible to drive with so many distractions and I was constantly being sent back to the pits by the over-intrusive programme the server runs.

I understand that this is to stop bad drivers ruining people's races, but I have a better idea for you: Run two servers. Have the current server open to the public, and start a new "pro" server where either a) drivers under a certain time are banned or b) have it password protected, with the password somewhere on these forums/FM website.

You came here to ask what people thought of FM and the community. My response is that I used to like racing oval servers when I fancied a speed blast. I would put up with the attitude (some) of your admins and (some) of the other people on the server (some of the BBR drivers, especially), because it was the only busy oval server around. But because of your over-zealous robo admin it's now a horrible place to drive, and I doubt I'll ever return.

What FM could do, is show how much of a kind and welcoming community they are, but .. oh i dunno, unbanning me? :P.. was banned from oval for very little and banger for nothing. show how good a community you are by unbanning me

yeah i know what you mean, we all like to rattle the formula 1 car around at 200 mph for a while, its refreshing from, say, driving a xfg about. i didnt really mind the program, i rarely crashed, and if i did, i was hammering shift s before the program did anyway. if the worst came to the worst i would just hit shift - and block the messages for the first few laps, until people had settled down into a good pattern.

They may have changed the programme since I last entered, but back then it used to pit you if you had damaged suspension from hitting the wall, which was VERY annoying.

Do they still ban you for passing on the right? It's racing, not a conga line!

i think its been tweaked, ive wrecked my car a couple of times by just tapping the red barriers and it didnt pit me, i hit shift s anyway, its a reaction.

Another thing ive noticed reading the FM Forums, Plaztikman, you banned a guy for 24 hours when he took you out by accident, and you slap a lifetime ban on me for next to nothing?

Thats actually a very good idea. And we did that. When we first started the oval server we had passworded server, where we did even longer races with qualy and stuff... But since we are a multigaming community, many members moved on to other games and there are just not enough people in the community to get a passworded server full every time. Sure every now and then we do it. but for daily business its just boring to drive around the oval with 5 cars on the track. What we want is a full grid and the opportunity for everyone to have a blasting oval-experience.
Nowadays we run the OVal Junkies for the public and use our other servers for other track/car combos such as banger racing or roadcourses.
But I really appreaciate your constructive Suggestion (dunno if that is proper english..).

Have a look in ourr forum to be informed about such "private sessions". For example, this sunday we are planning a 4 race event. Join our community and see for yourself.

Best regards
banning should be a users-vote in my opinion. no matter on what server. admin should be allowed to kick, i am fine with that. but banning should be always a users-vote...

just my 5cent.

to the team: i like almost all the guys there, allthough i think BF1 has killed the FO8 and the oval-fun. allthough it is still fun there . but i will concentrate more on FXR and GTRs.

anyway. what is the sense behind this thread? opening up some eyes in the FM-community???

I disagree, wreckers and "unsafe" drivers should be removed from a server, with an appropriate ban length.

It doesn't matter whether it's an admin or not.
If you can't take criticism, don't make a thread asking what people think of you. You will find that those who do like FM will not bother posting, but those who dislike them (like me) will take it as an opportunity to tell everyone of their bad experiances with you.

Either take it on the chin, or actually listen to what people are saying and perhaps consider making a few changes.
Thanks Torben for this great review on the "old days of ovaaaaaal".

When I startet with S2 because of that great GTR Version of my lovely XRT, I had never played online before. I got a S1 licence but I used keyboard (my great Ultraracer "R/C-Control Style" Wheel didn´t work with parallel/usb adapters) and that was IMHO not good enough to fight online. But it´s not really a shame to stick with SCGT since S2 came out.

A few days later I found the FM XSIV Server oval runnin. Same impressions like torben told before. Fast, croudy, amazing. I got a Logitech Lemans Wheel for 20 Bucks and tried to race with the AI offline. But the AI can´t handle oval racing. So I got back online and a few minutes later .... I was banned. This really p***es me off and 24 h later I went back to this server. I keep very quiet and started always from the pits, cause I can´t handle the start. I spectated the guys who banned me before very often in this days and I saw that some of these guys (some with FM Tag) are very arrogant people and crashs a lot and blaim others for it. Who are those guys I was asking myself. Search function in the lfs forum shows me this: http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?t=1184

I am really oval addicted so I want to stay on that server. A few days and better times later that guy called "Failure" told me "Join our Ventrilo Server for better racing". I asked him why. To hear the "F**ks" and "S**ts" from others too? He sayed that they warn each other and have a good time (with free chicks, free drinks and stuff) together. I never used something like this and I was a little bit shy. But I installed ventrilo (www.fragmaster.net/vt) and I was very impressed. Cd Quality and no bad pings. I met a lot of very nice people there and specially very nice americans like Thunderchild, Canadaman, Racer and more then 20 others.
On the oval we have sometimes racing trouble with american (and australian) players because the FM server is located in europe. Ping probs and stuff. Very hard for close starts and bum... erm...the b-word.

There WERE some people around the FM community that act very arrogant and feeling like "rule the world". Those people always kept the best line and when a backmarker came into FOV, they never thought about lifting the throttle or leave the line for short. Because that screws your time for this AND the next lap. And those guys blame the "noobs" as crashers. But accidents in this way are the fault of both drivers. But this times have changed , those guys are GONE a long time before this thread. The FM Community is a very nice place. Remember someone of the fun on newyears day? 70th funk music 24 hours in ventrilo (thanks Fail), UF1 racing on the oval, that was great.

LFS, GTL, Trackmania, WoW and many more games are played here in different channels. I like that. If one of your buddys in the "Chill out zone" (most of us are online in ventrilo 24/7) you can call him to play something. People: Just try it if you are not to shy. This is 21st century entertainment.

Quote from Quicksilver :

How can you say that? Do you know anyone of us? And btw: I don´t like that "roboadmin", too. I hate the lfs lapper. Specially the auto pit function. Sometimes you save your car from spinning and that freakin roboadmin (perfect word) sends you to spectate. :/ But I agree with Failure and the others, it´s better for a clean track.

P.S.: QUIETSCHEENTE-FANCLUB-O-METER [IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII] =)
Guys if you want to play on Ovals there is nothing better then Nascar 2003. I can even recommend a good league or 2
Sadly i have to agree with most posters here.
When i was new i raced on the FM oval server a bit and boy was that fun.
Got kicked for not clearing the track after a slide..even though i had no damage and simply continued driving. Saw lots and lots of ugly spam by admins (which included way too many ugly words to repeat here)

Then one day an admin is following me round the track in about 4th position ,trying to get close enough to draft..but funnily enough he spinned in T4 when he came too close and lost downforce. OFcourse this was my fault and i got some abuse thrown at me followed by a lifelong ban.
That was enough for me to class FM as badmannered kids and never go to their servers again..that kind of behaviour might be "cool" in CS..but its definately not appreciated in LFS.

And yes i have seen 2 decent FM guys who behave and do drive other tracks, but they are a clear minority im afraid. So maybe this thread should be a cue to consider how your members behave and who u give adminrights to, just dont slagg off people giving their opinion after they were asked to give it.

Everyone was/is welcome, except if those trying to publish nazi things or are to bored in life and just want to annoy other people!

There are several teams who found there home in the FM Community,

and have their own channel

like BBR, [ZWR], (Eagle), [SR] and maybe in the future FPR

I just wanted to mention this, as the thread is not just meant about the FM Team, over the FM Community as well!!

And where many people meet, there are allways people you dont like or you dont come along with, some with a big mouth, some with

not a big mouth, so if people see the FM Community they shouldnt just think at the people they may dont like. FM is a community

where everyone can publish his thoughts free, not a community where everyone has to have the same opinion about everything and

just walking up the developers ass. As i can see it to much in some forums in these days...

Argh and also muahahaha. Didn´t really remember that it was you m8, I was very angry when I wrote this thread. But thanks to bring this back into my mind. Great work Aldi.
Do you remember that time Nigel Mansell got a lifetime motorsport ban when he overtook Mario Andretti on the right? Or when Al Unser Jr was insta-banned for 24 hours for brushing a wall. Or when Paul Tracy was only spectated for asking why the rules are like they are.

Come on FM guys, sort the server out, chill out a bit, and mix with the community, rather than huddling in corner muttering between yourselves and banning everyone who does things slightly differently to you (the impression I got from all these posts).

Also, if you are going to ask whether the 'LFS Community' likes you, be prepared for the embarassing situation in which over 50% of the votes are bascially 'who the hell are they?', and then trying to defend yourself when an overwhelming majority believe you are doing something wrong. If 100 people think you are wrong, and 2 think you are right there's a good chance you're wrong.
If there will be ever an "MOST BITCHIN AROUND AND FLAMING SPAMMER AND NONSENSEPOSTER AWARD"... you´ll get my vote tristan. illepall

What´s all that "do that and do this or" nonsense? Are you someone´s big brother? Do you really think, s.o. needs to be teached by you? We talk about community. That´s all.
Umm, Tristan's post was perfectly sensible, not flaming, and the vast majority of the stuff he posts isn't spam, it's actually helpful...

illepall Right back at you
I just can´t understand why people like him read threads about things they don´t like and post something against it. Looks very silly to me. I don´t like Rallye in LFS very much. But why should I tell s.o.? Nobody needs my opinion in rallye threads. I have no skill, no practice, so I never write about it. That means I don´t know about rallye. Tristan don´t know about Oval/Fm Community, etc. But always his 2 pence that no one (in this thread or Nardo) needs.
Except this thread was asking peoples opinions on the fm community. Most people who have delt with fm deal with them on the oval.
