FIA vs Scrutineers
The mass dampers are going to be allowed at Hockenhein even though the FIA banned them last week. See:

That should favour Renault this weekend. I must say I couldn't see why the FIA banned them. They seem like a good bit of innovation to me and clearly they are more focused on mechanical rather than aero grip.
The qualifying is tomorrow, they need to make a decision. Time is running out.

Not if you're the FIA. They'll just make the decision on monday and declare all points earned as illegal and ban half the field for 2 races. Unlogical you say? Hey, it's the FIA!

Just like they did to Honda last year with the fuel ballast thing.
And the controvesy a year ago with the US GP. Wow the FIA has a bad reputation don't they.
Not with Ferrari lol

Please not again.Dont let the flame start.
I might agree with you a bit....though.
Why do people call them the FIA? Surely their proper name, the Ferrari Support Club is more appropriate here?

Right. The FIA only banned the mass dampers because Renault were getting more benefit from them with the Michelin tyre than Ferrari would with the Bridgestone.
Quote from thisnameistaken :I have to say I agree with the stewards on this one. How can you call a damper an aerodynamic device? It's the FIA's own stupid bloody fault for trying to use an inappropriate regulation to outlaw it.

i agree as well. according to the FIA (Ferrari support club) shouldn't shock absorbers be banned as well? what about steering wheels. it's OBVIOUS that anyone with a moveable steering wheel has an advantage. and those other teams with moveable brake and gas pedals. WHAT A BUNCH OF CHEATERS!!!!illepall

Except that in that case, the penalty was entirely fair.
I agree with speedfreak...they might as well ban anything on the car that moves. Wheels have an enormous effect on the aerodynamics, but they're not suggesting that movable wheels should be banned...
They should remove the driver, that has a sizeable effect of aerodynamics.
Of course, it doesn't have an effect on Ferrari's.
Don't bash FIA, Max is going to kick your ass if you do!

Wheels also move significantly compared to the sprung part of the car...
There making a fuss over dampers helping aerodynamics? Why didn't ferrari get a penalty for there moving wing slats then?
Dampers don't effect aerodynamics anyway.
