Here's an opportunity to do some actual research on this subject. Robert Parry is a highly respected journalist. This is an excellent historical analysis of the Ukraine at present, and the historical background for the current events.

Do try to post from a position of knowledge, whatever views you have Smile
http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article40857.htm

From the start of the Ukraine crisis in fall 2013, the New York Times, the Washington Post and virtually every mainstream U.S. news outlet have behaved as dishonestly as they did during the run-up to war with Iraq. Objectivity and other principles of journalism have been thrown out the window. The larger context of both Ukrainian politics and Russia’s role has been ignored.

Again, it’s all been about demonized “bad guys” – in this case, Ukraine’s elected President Viktor Yanukovych and Russia’s elected President Vladimir Putin – versus the “pro-Western good guys” who are deemed model democrats even as they collaborated with neo-Nazis to overthrow a constitutional order.

Anyone who dares protest the unrelentingly one-sided coverage is deemed a “Putin apologist” or a “stooge of Moscow.” So, most Americans – in a position to influence public knowledge but who want to stay employable – stay silent, just as they did during the Iraq War stampede.

To understand why Russians are so alarmed by U.S. and NATO meddling in Ukraine, you have to go back to those days after the Soviet Union collapsed in 1991. Instead of working with the Russians to transition carefully from a communist system to a pluralistic, capitalist one, the U.S. prescription was “shock therapy.”

As American “free market” experts descended on Moscow during the pliant regime of Boris Yeltsin, well-connected Russian thieves and their U.S. compatriots plundered the country’s wealth, creating a handful of billionaire “oligarchs” and leaving millions upon millions of Russians in a state of near starvation, with a collapse in life expectancy rarely seen in a country not at war.

As recounted in his 2001 book, Failed Crusade, Cohen correctly describes this fantastical reporting as journalistic “malpractice” that left the American people misinformed about the on-the-ground reality in Russia. The widespread suffering led Vladimir Putin, who succeeded Yeltsin, to pull back on the wholesale privatization, to punish some oligarchs and to restore some of the social safety net.

Though the U.S. mainstream media portrays Putin as essentially a tyrant, his elections and approval numbers indicate that he commands broad popular support, in part, because he stood up to some oligarchs (though he still worked with others). Yet, Official Washington continues to portray oligarchs whom Putin jailed as innocent victims of a tyrant’s revenge.
A photo of a breakers yard with broken tanks proves nothing. Do you not realise how absolutely useless tanks with trees going through them are going to be?

This is indicative of the equipment they are using

Not even they are denying it, so why would you?

No long term serious military conflict can happen without outside help. ammunition runs out, equipment gets destroyed, uniforms get worn out, all this has to be funded by huge loans. No, I do not think the Donetsk Rebels are holding off a large western assisted army with army defectors, captured vehicles and farmers who find a T-64's controls to be rather like a combine harvester. It's called realism.

Who needs idiots controlling the people, we need intelligent laws, meaningful govt and no rich pr!#$ telling everyone to do what they say.

I know, I know... Eastern Europe can be quite complicated.

First, I show you results of political capitalism - this is postcommunism situaton of state-controlled economy. Where you can become an oligarch by being a state official, like Yanukovych.
There is no capitalism's CHAOS - everybody knows with whom they can make business. And who can run business. Btw. your hero's son (Yanukovych's) had for example the habit of acquiring shares in enterprises. It was real 'hostile takeovers' - he just came to the company saying: 'from tomorrow I will be majority owner or this company will not exist'.

This is why Maidan revolted against that cleptocracy rule.
This is also a reason why eastern Ukraine revolted because they cannot exist without such position.

http://www.strategic-culture.org/news/2015/02/09/ukraine-military-coup-inevitable.html

A year has passed since the Ukraine’s government was forcibly removed. Experts strongly believe that a military coup is inevitable. It’s a matter of time, driving forces and scenarios.

The motley crew to include National Guard voluntary formations, territorial defense units or the All-Ukraine Battalion Brotherhood is going to play the role of the Praetorian Guard. They have shown no combat prowess but acquired the reputation of being merciless. They are called «punishers» or «national scumbags». With no victories achieved on the battlefield they always raise ballyhoo about being betrayed. And there is some justification for saying so. The regime purposely selected Maidan activists to men the battalions. Sent to frontline they happen to be right in the heat of fighting. The regime hardly wants them to come back alive. The battalion commanders are made members of parliament to recognize their merits. It’s an extraordinary case in history

The Battalion Brotherhood is not unanimous, there are serious differences inside its ranks. For instance, the Kulchitsky and Donbass battalions clashed near Uglegorsk. Semen Semenchenko, the Donbass commander, was wounded. Andriy Parubiy, Vice Speaker of parliament, former Maidan commandant and Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, is on the list of candidates to become coup leaders. He was the target of failed assassination attempt by the end of last year. The traces led to the State Security Administration headed by loyal associate of President Valeriy Heletey. Perhaps Poroshenko will be held responsible for the action. The government takes urgent steps to prevent a regime change. No matter the decision is obviously late, the presidential administration plans to create a 25 thousand strong military police force to turn it into the pillar of Poroshenko’s regime. Fortifications are built in the capital. According to the head of the Kyiv police, Alexander Tereshchuk, eight block posts (actually fortified positions) protected from bullets, grenades and other projectiles are going to be erected at the entrances to the city. Snipers will be sent to garrisons. Protection of bridges will be enhanced with police patrols. Metal detectors are to be installed at subway entrances. The civil defense system under the operational staff led by the head of City Council has been moved to higher state of readiness. The Ukraine’s Security Service under Valentin Nalivaichenko has joined the fight against plotters in the usual irrational manner.

Viacheslav Fursa, the head of All-Ukrainian Battalion Brotherhood, is called provocateur acting in the interests of Russia. Ukrainian Lieutenant Colonel Mykhailo Chornobai of General Staff has been arrested. They say he is a «Russian agent» who was the central figure of the plot. Besides, he happened to be guilty for all the setbacks suffered lately by Ukrainian forces. According to Nalivaichenko, Mykhailo Chornobai was responsible for information leakage to Life News and other Russian channels. He allegedly told them about «preparations for provocations» to take place in the area of «anti-terrorist operation» to enable journalists get there first. CIA-trained Nalivaichenko does not realize that the accusations confirm the involvement of the service he heads. No reasonable Ukrainian takes the Security Service seriously now.

Usually when someone cries wolf it’s because they want something, likely a scam or some kind of swindling going down.

In this case Ukraine is crying wolf in order to have EU and US taxpayers front the bill for their expenses…gas, oil, oligarch party funds, Hunter Biden – Igor Kolomoisky benders, etc…

For the main stream media, well they are in bed with the MIC (military industrial complex)*, so their payoff is more business manufacturing war.

The US and EU leaders who support the invasion meme are also in the pockets of the MIC, so it’s good business…and manufacturing fear is also what helps keep them in office.

* Highly relevant quote that NO-ONE ever gets !
Public Papers of the Presidents, Dwight D. Eisenhower, 1960, p. 1035- 1040

"In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the militaryindustrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist.

We must never let the weight of this combination endanger our liberties or democratic processes. We should take nothing for granted. Only an alert and knowledgeable citizenry can compel the proper meshing of the huge industrial and military machinery of defense with our peaceful methods and goals, so that security and liberty may prosper together."

Ukranian sources said that 20 Saxons have been delivered to Ukraine, with another 55 expected to arrive soon.

Georgia’s former president, Mikheil Saakashvili, has been appointed the chairman of the council of advisors for international affairs under Ukraine’s President Petro Poroshenko, News- Georgia agency reported citing the Pirveli Radio.
The Georgian Prosecutor General’s Office filed charges in absentia against Saakashvili on several criminal cases, including the embezzlement of about $5 million of public funds for personal needs.

Georgia’s former president, Mikheil Saakashvili, has been appointed the chairman of the council of advisors for international affairs under Ukraine’s President Petro Poroshenko, News- Georgia agency reported citing the Pirveli Radio. The official document, which was published on Poroshenko’s website Friday, announces an order “to appoint Mikhail Saakashvili as an aide to the Ukrainian president (non-staff position).”

According to Poroshenko, the controversial Georgian politician, who is currently based in the US, , will head the Advisory International Council of Reforms. The organization’s main goals will be developing proposals and recommendations for implementing reforms in Ukraine based on best international practices. The council will invite foreign experts to work on changing the Ukrainian legal system as well as to boost international support for Ukraine.

The good news for Ukraine is this however.

"Traders seem to agree with Mr Ash. The hryvnia, Ukraine’s currency, fell today. It is now worth a third less than it was a few days ago.

For the extra cash, what is the IMF expecting in return? Understandably, the fund wants reform. Ukraine is horribly corrupt and inefficient. Improving the business climate is vital.
But the IMF’s medicine will not taste good for the average Ukrainian. Let’s go through what Ms Lagarde said in her statement."

And, please post Western media commentary on this situation as I'm struggling to find any Smile
A bill submitted by an MP from President Poroshenko’s party in the Ukrainian parliament seeks to criminalize public speech that reject the government’s narrative on the civil war, which it describes as a Russian military invasion. The controversial bill amends the Ukrainian criminal code to make “public denial or justification of the Russian military aggression against Ukraine in 2014-2015” a felony. The ‘crime’ would carry a penalty ranging from a heavy fine and up to a five-year jail term for repeat offences or convicts who held public office.

Now I only wonder, how DUMB you are?

First, you think APC will be used against tanks.
Now you show proof of Russian tanks in Eastern Ukraine...

Numerous Tornado shells have been found after being fired on civillians in Mariupol, Eastern Ukraine. Only Russia's army uses Tornados artillery.
I showed pictures of Russia's marines fighting at Donetsk Airport as shown in official state Russia's One TV channel.
There are pictures of Ukraine's POW being tortured in Lugansk, separatists territory, and taken by military men into cars with Sverdlovsk (deep in Russia) number plates.
There are pictures of Russian tanks on officialy invaded Crimea.

...How DUMB you can be to call it aggression on Russia?

About Russia's invasions...
The region of Transnistria was in the same situation as Eastern Ukraine. It became 'independent' from Moldova with big Russia's support. Russia's financial aid was major pillar of it's budget. Now the imperial toy is forgotten and deep into bankruptcy with 50% budget deficit and only 25% of planned revenues for January:
After months of crisis which has been ongoing since 2013, Transnistria faced the threat of economic catastrophe. Such poor conditions of Transnistria’s economy have additionally worsened due to the Ukrainian crisis. Russian aid, which had been so far one of the most important pillars of the region’s economy has significantly been limited due to the bad economic situation inside Russia.
Meanwhile, budget revenues are not enough to secure the payments of pensions and salaries for employees of Transnistria’s public sector

http://www.neweasterneurope.eu/articles-and-commentary/1462-transnistria-s-economy-going-from-bad-to-worse
Furthermore, I can assure you, every post-soviet country has post-soviets ready to 'revolt and make independent states' at each Kremlin call.

...How DUMB you are to call Russia's driven treason as beneficiary for Russia's neighbours?

All gone to shit in Ukraina, what now?
