They're no good...as for the stats, seperating them is utter crap. Racing is racing, besides, whether you look at stats or not...dont tell me your looking at who has the most wins!! Comeon, I look at staps to compare times and that type. If you just want to see who has the most wins...then it becomes a huge one-sided thingy for the oval racers.
Ban the ****ers forever. A noticeable disclaimer (like there is now in the demo, before going online) about cheating that sais it causes permanent account ban. After that you really must be dumb to cheat.
Then why is there a poll option for "erasing LFSW statistics". Why is this thread talking about statistics (Keep lfs statistics true?) Why is there that option... it must relate to something about cheaters having statistics which you seem are unfair to people that actually race. Well DURRR, that is what I brought it up, and to be honest, oval racers and people with insansely high stats are in no way a comparison to someone that could spend an entire day just racing on normal circuits.
Dig a little deeper and you find this isn't about a oval racer vs. normal racer debate (everyone has their own tastes to racing), it is that you don't like your precious stats being being ruined. All I ever hear from any of you guys is stats stats stats. Sorry, but it is silly to think that they are so important, and if cheaters have bogus data, and you think it is "ruining" LFSW making it "false", well.... why can't we compare people's racing on normal circuits to people that have driven HALF your amount over the course of 2 or more years, when you have done it in what... a year? Heck drive 20,000+ miles in a month??? Of course, deal with the cheaters, but for god's sake, do something about the statistics of oval racing and circuit racing.... example: split them.
It's the fact that you are coming on here complaining about the stats, not realizing that you sound like you're trying to protect your own. Quite frankly, LFSW stats have been ruined by oval statistics, and it isn't like it used to be. Overall data is not even fun to look at anymore.
To make it clear the last time, because that kind of stupid discussions makes me sick, tweaker. I never care about the most driven statistics. That´s useless. I´m talking about racer statistics. Remember that guy who place the wall at start at blackwood to screw up his lap statistics?
Wasn´t it you who tested it and bring the replay to lfs world to show the devs what has been done? What that guy did was unfair and he get the results: His laps are deleted.
As I say before, it´s about player statistics, not about track/car usage. It´s totally unfair to cheat the player stats with a cheat. That was what I want to say about the statistics.
About the poll: I want to know which problem people has with cheaters. Like you can see, most of them likes to ban cheaters. IMHO not for the stats but for the fairness in races. And now please stop that bs about seperating stats, race is race. As long as it is done correct.
And BTW: We don´t drive oval only. Meet us on WE, KYGP or a lot of other circuit tracks.
Well that is an obvious choice. I really doubt there would be a higher percentage of people agreeing with players cheating
As I voted, and many other said, the stats can be reset, and we start fresh. This IS a game that is in development and prone to cheating every now and then, so you are going to have to deal with it. Depending on the severity, the devs can ban any way they like, and that is up for THEM to decide... not a poll that tells them to do something which they already do
EDIT: And personally I think the devs are doing great with controlling the dirty stats and required patches after a known cheat is publicly used. They do the best they can, and so far, it looks fine to me. Other games just leave their stats and take forever to clean up. So I can't see why the devs need to work harder than they already are.
OH I am sorry, but do you have control to "Ban cheaters from LFS permanent." ???? Read what you quoted, and remember your choices. Not to mention, Scawen says this community is not a democracy, and we dont control what they manage. BLah, I am just reiterating my previous point.
I'll agree with that. Since the oval was added I just don't bother to look at ANY of the stats. I wish the oval statistics could have their own section, so that us circuit races (who use different cars, and aquire less laps due to the nature of circuits) could have an unmolested stats page.
So what's the average laptime then? You're obviously getting handicapped if you drive UF1 on KY3. Why are you bothered by some numbers on a webpage even if you know that they mean very little? As said earlier, I only care about my own stats. And I would be as happy or sad even if all of them would be done on oval. Distance or laps-done do not relate to skill.
+1 for the oval racer stats not to be mixed with normal stats. Just so that this thread could be forgotten. Asap
Yup i got to agree, not picking on oval drivers or anything but it is a laborious process to seperate the oval racers from track racers to do any type of useful comparison.
back to topic?! thought this was about cheaters, their hotlaps and their laptime statistics and not the number of laps/driven distance.....
yes, ban the cheaters
and btw:
is this forum full of illepall ? i get the impression that many people here have the opinion: "i dont like it-> i dont want it, it is false"... stupid?
fact is: the oval is part of the game-> part of the statistics;
and has the most driven laps/distance. so what?! there is nothing wrong about it.
create a new topic about how to modify the statistics.
and afterwards maybe how to get rid of all noobs, chaseview- and keyboard, gamepad or mousedrivers...
Let me make a comparison. I am a big cyclíng fan, at the moment there are hard discussion about drugs. Cyclist take an advantage towards the others with illegal drugs. If they get catched they get a 2 year ban of every race and a 4 year ban of every pro race. Then he has the chance to return, if he gets catched again he gets a lifetime ban. Why not using some similar thing for players in LFS who get an advantage with cheats. Maybe if they get first catched give them an immediately 2 week ban. If they do it again then give them a lifetime ban or a maybe a 1 month ban....for a online game a 1 month ban is a long time....totally ban a user when he first gets catched is not good in my eyes everyone has to get a second chance....if he miss it then ban him from LFS for longer or for life!
Some players are no longer able to upload hls because of cheating in the past. Isn´t it possible to make it impossible to them to get statistics? Just let them race and don´t count there times/laps?
