This application mixes a new sound with OutGauge.

Changed car: BF1 FZR

Add new car sound(v0.3):
Turbo charger,Brake Squeal,Road Noise(or Wind Noise),Fuel Warning.
I put BF1,FZR,FXO, FXR as a sample in user editor.

Drive train off sound has not been changed yet.

Installation
Extract this archive to in your favorite directory.

How to use
-if LFS is running, please close LFS.
1. open up LFS cfg.txt and scroll down to the bottom.
2. open up Readme_eng.txt.
3. copy over the OutGauge lines from your Readme.
4. close both files, start CSR then start LFS.
5. choose either the FZR or BF12.

Recommand: Options - Misc - Sound lag = 0.10 sec
Plz adjust Options - Audio - skid,wind,echo volume boost by the favor.

This program needs Visual Basic 6 sp6 run-time files.

A sound does't change even if you change a view.
maybe does't work with T patch.

Fixed FZ50 engine probrem by v0.31ALPHA.
(BF1 TC malfunctioned.)

And the BF1 doesnt really sound like the BMW sauber or any 2006 F1 car. I have the entire free practice of turkey onboard (random cars) with no commentary if that could be useful?

Car Sound Remixer (CSR) Installation Guide

CSR is a sound modification/utility made by yamakawa that adds sampled engine, shift, transmission, turbo, brake squeal, backfire and indicator sounds to LFS. It is an alternative if you dislike the default sounds. Approach is purely based on sound samples like in most other games, completely different to the internal synthesized sound engine in LFS. With correct sound volume settings result can be a nice blend of both, the synthesized sound and CSR sounds. You can also mute the default sounds.

Yes.

INSTALLATION

Aug 2011: Apparently it still works (at least with now old Z version), but you might need this: #post1329031

1. You need:

• Car Sound Remixer v0.31 alpha (by yamakawa): liveforspeed.se / Rapidshare (52 MB)
  
• Full Sound Pack (by DaveWS): Rapidshare / #post248878 (68 MB)

Optional/additional files:

• FZR sound (based on Lamborghini V12 from GTR2) made by me: #post250026
  
• Update on FXR sound (by DaveWS): 2#post296352

2. Install CSR by extracting the .zip file to Live For Speed\CSR folder. Keep this kind of folder structure:

• Go to Live For Speed\CSR\User Files and rename BF1 and FZR folders to something else, otherwise they will be overwritten by different sounds from the DaveWS's sound pack. You can try both and decide which ones you like more.
  
• Install Full Sound Pack to Live For Speed\CSR folder, choose yes when prompted about replacing files.

The additional files:

• Extract the FZR sound to Live For Speed\CSR\User Files folder (incase you did not rename the original folder, choose yes to replace).
  
• Place the FXR.dat to Live For Speed\CSR\User Files\FXR folder.

4. Locate cfg.txt in LFS main folder and replace the last lines with these and then save it:


5. When you start CSR.exe, you will need to activate the "User Mode" before launching LFS:

"Edit" button goes to the editor (you don't need go there now). On the grey area you can choose what sounds you want to hear - these are car specific settings just like the volume slider. Also notice that the different car sound packs sound different and have different volume levels.

6. Finally, you can create a .bat file ("shortcut") for starting CSR and LFS at the same time:

• Create a file called start.bat and place it in the LFS main folder.
  
• Open the file in Notepad, copy & paste these lines and save it:

• Now you can create a desktop shortcut to this .bat file.
  
• Important: When you first time launch this .bat, check that the "User Mode" in CSR is enabled.

PROBLEMS

Sound lags

Change CSR.exe priority to "AboveNormal" in the Windows task manager or just make the .bat file.

Everything else works except car x - CSR sounds just doesn't play at all with this car

I don't know what's the problem. Try reinstalling (only CSR, not the sound packs).

Runtime error

You need to install Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0 Run-time files.

How can I use CSR with other OutGauge mods?

hi, i just tested the prog, very nice, but the sounds kinda annoy me
its an improvement, but like the fzr is too... scratchy...
but i like the mod

very nice indeed, however there are some things that might need more work.

1. doppler effect doesn't exist and so when in a track side cam it feels a bit weird and unreal.

2. again in an external cam, you should hear a lot less gear whine but more on the engine sound and exhaust, so that's again a bit weird.

Honestly I don't know how to work around these problems, but just some feedbacks..nice work!

wow, I have to say Congratulations. Great stuff (as long, as you are inside the car, and drive by yourself). I like that a lot and will have some more testdrives with it. Dunno, if it will be able to tell me the same details about the engine, as original sound, but DAMN, IT SOUNDS GREAT!

I tried that, it works but not both at the same time. If I start CSR.exe and then MomoLeds, CSR works. If I start MomoLeds and then CSR, Momoleds works but not CSR. Would it be possible you to create insim/outgauge relay for the utility? Maybe ask Becky Rose's guidance how to do it

got a rather strange problem here:
I get the gear change and backfire sounds along with all other EXCEPT the engine :?
Did you change anything except removing the XRT since ESM003? it worked fine with ESM...

5 Stars from me, BF1 sounds beautiful. FZR sounds a bit like a turbo or something... the transmission whine is all nice, but the FZR really needs some grumble I think . However you do it, keep it up, I really like this. Because the original LFS sounds are crap obviously

Well it was really great you know, I had a great laugh trying to get it working, or everyone else got to laugh at me while I tried.

Never got it to work, done everything over and over again, still got effin no where.

Though the FZR sounded great through team speak...

hey these are pretty cool! love em... but the sounds really sound like the ones from the game gtr2. lots of people steal sounds from that game and send them to the public for lfs mods like the backfire mod, those were taken from gtr2..... but anyway good job

man...just drove the BF1...i NEVER had so much fun to drive that car like today.
just this sound "improvement" gives the whole game a new feeling.
it was a blast. dammit, i guess ill go back and drive on
id really love to see the devs making such and update for car sounds, its just great.
