Just push hard, that's the mistake so many people make when they do any sort of track stuff.
I remember reading that some guy bought himself a performance car (can't remember the brand) and complained that he couldn't drive it quickly without it spinning. They got him down to a track and put him out, measured the temperature of the tyres and sent off there driver who found nothing wrong with the car. Measured the temperature of the tyres and they were a lot higher, bet that guy was embarrassed at being shown up as a bad driver
Hire karts generally use very hard compounds so you need to push them hard. Do what many people do and drive slowly trying to build there pace up and say hello to an embarrassing spin when you start trying to push.
Another thing to do is remember you can use the brake to set the kart up into the corner. If it's understeering you can use the brake pedal along with the steering wheel to introduce a bit of oversteer but don't over do it or you'll spin
I'll be doing a race in a couple weeks time hopefully, and all going to plan I'll get to race my Dad again We've both raced before, my Dad with a lot more experience in various types of racing but never on the track at the same time until a few months ago. Was awesome fun and turned out to be a great finale with us two battling hard.
