BlakjeKaas: How many degrees does your steering wheel have?
-
(Hankstar) DELETED by Hankstar
Too bad it isn't,
I got a Logitech Momo Racing...
so only 270 for me...
I would like to have a DFP though, but it came too late for me when I bought a wheel.

btw: why do you want to know?
Because it makes your argument against 45 degrees even more stupid. The amount of degrees needed to catch the slide doesn't really matter at all as long as not everyone is using the same amount of degrees. You can turn 36 degrees in lfs WAAAAY quicker than me with DFP and 720 degrees. Does it make lfs 'no sim' for me now? Because for some people things are easier? Eh.. Whatever.
No, it makes LFS 'more sim' because your steer has more degrees...
For others it's less sim, however(!) If you think, the others are quicker than me because they use only 270... And you want to be quicker, then you choose that...However it's less sim.

But you know...

I think it's ok with me now...
Or actually I'm forced to
I dont think we need a 45 degree lock unless we'll have a 500+ bhp RWD driftcar....
-1 for now

let me remind you that hp doesnt have to do anything with the lock.
drifting doesnt require too much power anything above 110hp is fine if you ask me.
theres one ae86 on d1 with 150hp and has more lock angle.

Throw some hybrids on and see what happens (for the XRT that is). The FZ5 would be a blast aswell.
lajosh 110 is not enough. Ina normal road car, the minimum is said to be about 175. The D1 AE86 wighs only about 800 kilos or so, bare that in mind. And it's more like 200 than 150.

my friends are just fine with their almost stock engines (low budget drifters)
ae86 @ ~130hp

me on the left with the flags

A few pics of me drifting my old car Opel Manta with 2.4 litre engine 125 hp
so there´s no need for much HP just a lil "feint" =)

Hello! (me again.)

HP doesn't have anything to do with the lock.
So you say, with 120HP you can also drift...
What I say, with 36 degrees you can also drift...

I mean you don't need a '500 HP RWD Driftcar'
You don't need 45 degrees too...
Quote from example :
I mean, if you can drift, you drift with 36 degrees.
If you can't drift why the hell make it more easy with 45 degrees...

Quote from example :
I mean, if you can race, you race without nitrous
If you can't race why the hell make it more easy with NOS...

^^
See, it's almost the same as NOS

I just don't like it.

(sorry for bumping)
Quote from Gunn :It's a +1 from me because it's quite possible to achieve this in real life, it doesn't disadvantage anyone and there is no apparent potential for it to be exploited in LFS. It doesn't detract from the realism at all. The drifters can enjoy the sim more and the racers wouldn't enjoy it any less.

That sums up my view better than I could have put it myself.

+1
I did drift (occasionally) (in the times of demo)
Nice Avatar Lajuice. Shame it works both ways.
Quote from Lajoosh_ ::talktohan

how do you like my avatar?

That mentality really sucks. It's like saying "if you don't like LFS you shouldn't post here."
Quote from tristancliffe :Nice Avatar Lajuice. Shame it works both ways.

your only problem here is just that you dont like me :P
but who cares? i was just saying that IF you are a gripper and dont really know anything more about drifting then it is gay/stupid JUST dont bother us in our fun! okay?
so now i cleared it for you. if you still cant understand this then youre who is not intelligent enough.
btw your avatar lacks creativity. :haha:
Then there is the "adsf" signature.. Bet Tristan didn't see that; thats obviously going to make him reconsider his avatar..

hahahaaaa!! asdf owns all
and fgsfds is heir apparent!

i like asdf i use it on purpose. to drive other people out of ther mind!
I'm surprised that this thread has lasted this long.
Quote from Jamexing :I'm surprised that this thread has lasted this long.

this thread is now against my person.
its not about the lock angle anymore because nobody can tell us a correct and true reason why not to change back to 45 (or even more) degrees.
Quote from djgizmo68 :instead of increasing the Steering Lock, how about the Ackerman Effect?

Hi, I just searched about that, but, from what i read, it is the efect that a wheel spins faster on the outside of a turn, than the wheel that is on the inside of the turn. But this is already simulated in LFS, just grab any car non-4x4 and put one of its tracking wheels on the air, on a sidewalk for example, or a curb, and if u acell, you will see the wheel on the air spin and the one on the ground dont, showing it has the diferential (dont know if this is the right translation), that makes 1 wheel spin more than the other with mecanical system.

Anyway, i dont see the point of not adding stuff to the game, if you dont take out others that ppl like... i would love to have a custom track builder, so i would make a rally track with pour tarmac, instead of dirty-pour tarmac, just want all the track with pour tarmac.

Sorry for any spelling mistakes.

Who bumped this? Put them in stocks so we can throw vegetables at them!

Please let old threads die with dignity, people.

sorry

I just wanted to make clear I don't like 45 degrees...

Let it R.I.P.
