An "over powering" Problem

I've had a quick look, and the first thing that springs to mind is the violent use of steering. I wondered if this was down to a short stick on a joypad, so I went for a test drive (attached). It's immediately apparent that the behaviour of the wheel is dramatically different, compared with your joypad. The wheel offers a colossal amount of additional control. You're able to make much more managed turns into corners, while counter-steering to a controlled extent, to prevent loss of control, etc.

Bear in mind that it's the first time I've driven a BF1 (or any car in LFS, actually) with automatic gears. They don't help at all, when you're trying to maintain traction while turning in to a sharp corner in a BF1, so my second recommendation is to forget automatic gears for the BF1. The engine braking is definitely causing a loss of traction right when you need it most.

Sam is right, your problem is the wild steering, that leads to wild weight transfer in corners and that causes the rear step out. I dont like aero cars (=can't drive them) that much but I had a go on your setup and noticed that the second turn can be driven flat out with no problems at all.

So try steering smoother, or change to non-aero cars
Hmm, i think BF1 isnt the right car to learn, i know it's appealing but i think it's better to start with some more easy cars.
To learn trottle control and of course countersteering i suggest you to:
1) Open LFS select Fern Bay rallyx and xrt
2) Select the gravel setup for xrt (maybe with an 80% lock lsd) and just go around and learn the track a bit.
No need of WR setups, they are to difficult to handle for now.
3) Now try to push without spinning and practicing some slides, no need to do big slides like the wr replays just learn to control the car, the last corner it's perfect for this, because it's... ehm simply long.
4) Continue practicing...
5) Continue...
6) Some more practice..
7) Can you make a controlled slide now? (Not all the lap just like 1 of 3 it's a controlled slide the other 2 you just spin off)
The most important thing here it's to finish slow laps without crash than finish one fast lap and crash!
8) If you can, now select LX4 and restart from point n°2
9) Now that you managed also the LX4 reselect xrt and go at Blackwood gp, suddendly the xrt will become a superstable and userfriendly car!
10) Conclusions: this doesnt mean you mastered the xrt but now you will improve every time you practice and hopefully you will learn from your mistakes because you will know what you are making wrong.
11) Now it's time to return to FE rallyx, but now you have to improve your times...

If you use a joypad, forget what i say and instead save some money and buy a wheel (there are also cheap ones so.. no excuses! )

Edit- I now saw you use a joypad, well you can practice, but joypad wont help you because a wheel it's far more sensible so i really suggest you to buy one (i think there are ones that cost less than your joypad)
right i've done what rubenz81 said (cheers ) and i've become alot better (in my eyes)... but i now need advice on what i can do to make me faster..attached are 4 laps of the LX4 at Blackwood there are still some problems when im pushing the car....see laps three and four at castrol corner... and almost everytime at turn one (if not every time :schwitz

once again constructive critisism wanted aswell as good advice

if anyone has any idea what i can do please post... its not even happening only if i use the BF1 or whatever i used the Xr GT and had the problem...

Ok@ all here, there seems to be more and more posts concerning gamepad controls in LFS, I've been using a PS2 type pad the past two years since I picked up the demo and yes I know judging from what you can see on LFSW
my times are not the best, I would blame that on my slow pc not the pad.

Now as I said after two years I think I have the options settings in LFS pretty much figured out for use on a gamepad.
I'm at work atm and will spend some time later putting together an "Easy to follow" gamepad setup reference and hope it will help people like supermasive.

You see the problem lies in the analogue sticks that we would use to turn the wheel, the stick only has a 90 degree range, thus making every little input made by the user multiplied by four.Even with all the settings set to their best, one must be extreemley light with the sticks!
But when you get the hang of this type of driving it is Much faster than using a wheel to counter steer your way out of trouble!

@ Super massive: Are you able to hold the wheel in a stationary position, say half lock, and keep it there without it jumping around?
And can you hold the throttle to the points that you would like ie: half open?
i can just about hold it.... not very well tho i know what you mean by very light steerin its so sensitive...if you could create a video on how to setup i'd be very thankful...its not the easiest and im tryin all sorts of things... but none seem to work... but yeah hopefully you acn make a video

Well I won't be making a video, but as I said above I'm at work atm, so later I will put together something for you to read on how to set up a gamepad in LFS.
