Alright, everyone's gone quiet (or are eating dinner maybe?) so, how about these recommendations:-
- The things you should expect to be able to post on the calendar are FUTURE events, rather than current/sudden announcements.
- The minimum period of time to post a future event should be x days (I propose 4).
Other events (e.g. STCC video, LXCC results tables etc) should be announced by thread posts rather than calendar events,
UNLESS you can deliver advance notice of these, meeting criteria 1 and 2.
This would allow results and videos to be announced in advance, AND (most importantly - the purpose of the calendar) allow people to
subscribe, so that they receive a reminder when the event comes to pass. Say I'm dying to hear when the STCC video is released, but I'm not constantly trawling the forum, I would like to be able to subscribe to be reminded of the video itself being released. But anything less than 4 days, and I would probably find the forum thread when it's announced anyway.
That's my thinkings so far. Anyone else?
