Ok, that's a computer case. The CPU (as shown in Ven's post) is a very small but integral part of your computer that is attached to your motherboard.
Well a mistake Do you guys have something like the picture on my first post?
Mine.

lol, so much for the sound dampening side panels...
nope, my box is flat black with no lights other than the standards (power, hard drive, network, etc.). and it's quiet. which is nice because my previous box sounded like a jet taking off.

It's not any louder with the acrylic side :P Plus, the acrylic absorbs sound just as well.

God no!

Yeah, quiet pc's are pretty nice to have. I've got the P180 like Roadie, but have kept it pretty much as-is (only swapped white LEDs on it, and quieter fans/HSFs) since it's a really nice case to begin with.

As for mods that fall into the "other" category, here's one of my babies. It usually hides in my car, but I take it into the house every now and then for upgrades and software stuff.

one day i will get around to modding mine - perhaps i'll add some dye to the water cooling, atm it just had a little led backlight on the front of the case, i love how quiet it is, and the fact its hidden away, i might go and grab the circulur neon light i had and put that behind the monitor, its very relexaing actually!

ROFL.

Yea, I don't rice my computer as well. Heck, I don't even have a proper separate graphics card, why the heck would I waste money on putting neon all over my PC case?

Though, every time I open a program that taxes the processor a bit more, the fan spools up faster and I have a .wav file that plays.... Pfffffssst! (Is that how a blowoff valve sounds like in text?)

Dyed water tends to clog up the works if so you need to clean it more often.

Most people who do it goto lan parties, which is why the whole fad was started. Now you can buy OEM systems pre-riced, which go under the desk and only the user will ever see. I have a little rice on my PC, but I never use it unless I'm at a lan party, just because the cold caths blind me, and just get annoying.

proper coolant cools better - and you buy some pre-dyed stuff, which was what i meant

I love having transparent pipes

Agreed. I tried really hard to find a case this past August that wasn't riced out (no side windows, no front bezel door, no disgusting front bezel design, etc.), and when I finally did, I found out it had a blue LED fan in the front.

I am aware that one uses coolant and not just tap water, but the dye even in pre-dyed tends to leave a scummy coating on the parts which slowly builds up, so you have to flush the system a lot. And being the guy I am, if I were to go liquid cooling I'd use industrial methylated spirit as it's clear unlike the commercal stuff and cools a lot better, plus many advantages like low freezing point, none-conductive, but mostly it's dirt cheap.
Meths tends to have a corrosive-like effect on some plastics, though

I don't like rice that is eatable and I don't like riced cars, also I don't like riced computers, so no, I have not done any such thing to my computer. It does have water cooling, but it is no built for showoff, it is built to make my computer quiet.
