tell me, will a GeForce MX 400 graphix card run TDU?
Quote from Smurfen :where did u see the new release date? cuz i have pre-ordered it ^^

Quote from Game :
Dear Mr Howell

Thank you for the following order placed with GAME.

Order number(s):
xxxxxxxxxxxx

As you may already be aware, the UK release date for Test Drive Unlimited has changed to 02-Mar-2007. Changes to release dates are relatively common in the videogames industry and are unfortunately beyond our control.

Don't worry, your order is still live and will be despatched prior to its release date via your chosen method of delivery.

I got that E-mail this morning.
rofl @frenchy, how many cars do you think in the world today can "easily" take corners at around 100 mph?

very few lol (if any tbh); big difference between roads and what a car is capable of doing, on roads.. statistics on a car don't mean much at all as far as handling goes, anything can happen
...talking about how realistically cars handle in this game, which is clearly arcade and not even meant to be realistic? illepall

what are the minimum requirements? I think I can pretty much forget getting more than 0.3 fps in this.
its an awsome game, but it runs like poo on my pc. its still a very buggy beta i guess...

its amazing how vast the game is. so many different roads.
Here are the system requirements I found on the TDU forums. Don't know if they are 100% though.

Quote from Atari Forums :
Thread edited following confirmation:

Operating System : Windows 2000/XP/Vista

CPU : Intel P4 @ 2.4Ghz or AMD Athlon 2800+.

GPU (Video Cards) : ATI Radeon 9800 256MB VRAM or Nvidia 6600 GT with 256 MB of VRAM.

Video Cards with vertex/pixel shaders 2.x and above are recommended.

SPU (Sound Cards) : DirectX 9.0 compatible Sound Card.

System Memory : 512 MB, 1 GB recommended

Hard Disk free space: 8 GB

DVD drive: 8x minimum

DirectX 9.0C (included)

it runs like poo on some high-end systems. bugs like i said.

Yep I can agree there, ran fine on my system then got audio bugs, haven't really experienced lag but it did kinda kill my system when I uninstalled it lol.

dang both lovers and haters, I would like to have a game with decent cockpit view for a TVR!! But I get really bugged by weird physics as well, tell me how does the car feel under the limit i.e. just crusing around?

fps wouldn't be as bad as FSX though?
I own it on the Xbox360 and I have to say its the best racing game I have played on any console. The freedom and scale of the island is amazing, it has long open highways and twisting mountain roads. The selection of cars is the best on any console racer, its got the perfect blend between new cars and classics. To be honest I was sold the moment I realised I could buy a Jaguar XJ220.

However I doubt many PC's will be able to handle the visuals, which are stunning.
Quote from KillerMonkey :Altough I don't have first-hand experience, from what I've heard the physics aren't very good and there's no damage modeling

Yeup... it's what you can expect from a Test Drive title, so guys don't expect this to drive nicely, it will just look nice

Really it is not too bad for arcade game, just keep tires gripping, if it slides whole immersion of driving a car will disappear like exploding soap bubble

I did hardest race on whole game, that is what description told, 200km against super cars, I took Chrysler 300c and I won (yes MC12 is slower than 300c, everybody knows that, riiiighhhtt), here is pic from bit after the start, note how good my fps are near other cars, there is some bug, my computer is not so weak

A64 3200+
Radeon x850xt
1GB ram

System is starting to get old, specially if games start to demand this much from hardware, I just would need 2 more years from this system until can do major upgrade

The graphics don't look all that nice which is strange considering that's just about all it has to offer. I didn't have high expectations; I wasn't expecting accurate physics or realistic driving. All I expected were some pretty graphics and a reasonably believable environment but it failed to live up to expectations in even those areas. I like the idea behind the game but the execution is lacklustre in almost every area.
Each to their own - I think if they can sort out the worst of the bugs & the online play so you can be connected to more than 8 players, and so that 7 out of the 8 don't lag too badly to race with, they're onto a winner. I've spent more time in TDU over the past few weeks than I have in any other game, and love it.

Does feel like they cheaped out on the road mappings a bit though, recent NFS titles have smoother elevation changes. The snap-oversteer resulting in an instant spinout if your not prepared for it is pretty annoying too.
It was a nice concept(MMO-Racing?), but very poorly executed. I had a hard time figuring out where the GPS-lady wanted me to go. A lot of time i didn't see the road she wanted me to take before i had already passed it. Also, i know it's a beta but since it's public the performance should have been a lot smoother. My comp's a little bit over the system requirements, and i ran it at the very lowest of settings, but still i had audio drop-outs, sluggish control-response and some random behavior sometimes.
I dl'ed it through dc++ and now I CANT GET A KEY! they've closd it... gaylords

hmm.

Operating System : Windows 2000/XP/Vista yep.

CPU : Intel P4 @ 2.4Ghz or AMD Athlon 2800+. nope, athlon xp 2600+

GPU (Video Cards) : ATI Radeon 9800 256MB VRAM or Nvidia 6600 GT with 256 MB of VRAM. hmm, radeon 9600 pro, might be enough.

Video Cards with vertex/pixel shaders 2.x and above are recommended. yep, got that.

SPU (Sound Cards) : DirectX 9.0 compatible Sound Card. of course

System Memory : 512 MB, 1 GB recommended got 1 gig

Hard Disk free space: 8 GB huh? only have like 1 gb left when its done downloading...hmm thats gotta be interesting how im gonna manage that.

DVD drive: 8x minimum yep.

DirectX 9.0C (included) still wondering that there isnt a new version already (not speaking of DX10).

so... this game will prolly run like crap (if i ever have enough hd space) but im gonna give it a go anyways

Well as I get something like 150-200fps in LFS and I struggle to get 30fps in TDU, I would say that something has to be wrong in game, specially when there is some others with clearly less powerful computers and they do get 60fps, really weird.

Quote from chopaholic :Will a Gforce 5 graphics card run this?

As everytime is start the game it minimizes then crashes.

It has less than 1/3 of gpu power than my card.

But that is surely not reason for such behaviour.
it is said on the forums that cards that.. aren't anywhere near what is needed will cause the game to crash after starting up
1.Operating System : Windows 2000/XP/Vista
