Quote from engintepe :macbook intel core duo 2ghz with 2gigs ram running win xp pro.

am i the only one playing lfs on a mac?

No. I'm on a 2.17 GHz Core 2 Duo MacBook Pro right now. I ran in a couple LOTA races while in hotels last year. LFS plays with very high framerates even on a 1920x1080 external display. Vsync on 60Hz and FPS never goes below that unless there's a ton of cars closeby in external view, like in a race start. The video chip won't antialias at or above 1600x1200 though. BTW, is yours a MacBook or MacBook Pro? I'm interested in knowing if LFS would be playable with the MacBook's integrated graphics.
My LFS rig (need to finish setting it up, not quite done that)

3 gig dual-core processor
2 gig ram
320gb HD
256mb PCI-E GFX card
FF wheel and pedals

Thoughts welcome.

my new rig

Intel Core Duo 2.4ghz
Intel Motherboard 1066mhz
Nvidia 7950GT 512mb
Corsair 2048mb DDR2 RAM
400mb seagate HD (for my premire pro files )
Thermaltake Case
Fire wire port

plays games and edits films, does all the things it needs to
I've been after a race frame for some time but space was a problem. After much head scratching I came up with a 2 part collapsable scheme where the chair folds under the wheel. It seems to work. If it doesn't collapse in a couple of weeks I will paint it in the FLR colours. (FPR are the team at the back of the grid if you havn't seen us out there).
Photo quality a bit poor but I only have a phone for digital photos.
