A real life track?

I have held a poll on my site where I asked people which type of track should in LFS.

What kind of track should be added to liveforspeed?

as you can see most of them want an airfield track.

Imagine a big airfield with a premade circuit on it, and the possibility to make/share your own track on it (like the BW parking, and the Autocross)

(then it is also possible the fit the TopGear test track on it)
i especcialy like the top gear track idea
Regarding the Current real cars in LFS, if i remember, "They" approached the Devs, they didnt approach them. So they didnt have to apply for a license for the car etc.
Quote from KeiichiRX7 :hmmm... Tsukuba, Laguna Seca, and Nurburgring....

Alex, What are three courses that you only know about because of gran turismo 4?

(those of you who get the joke, thank you, those who dont... dont)

Um, nurburgring is a famous track. Reguardless of playing GT4 or not, MANY people know of it. Same with laguna seca. Not so much Tsukuba, unless you live in japan.
can use some real street but not track to build a track?
just like Hong Kong in GT4
I would like..

Tsukuba, Suzuka Circuit, Ebisu Circuit, La Sarthe Circuit, Laguna Seca, Sepang F1 Circuit..
Quote from duke_toaster :There was a plan in the late 60's to have a Grand Prix on the streets of London - in fact, it very nearly happened.

It was planned to be a figure of eight, but rather long and with some long straights but some insanely slow sections as well. Like Hockenhiem, but a street circuit. It was about 10km long. There's a map on the backup of racingcircuits.net , but that's down at the moment.

The Birmingham superprix was an interesting idea, but the f*cking ressies complained. The corner names also changed every week

Here'sthe map of the Proposed London GP Circuit. (1969)

Cheers,
Matt.
Unless there are physics parameters in the track that will change drasticly in a future update, I see no reason why mod teams couldn't be allowed to make tracks for LFS. All those real life tracks made for just about every other sim has not been payed royalty money for, becuase modders have made them and released them for free.

I really would like to have the classics in LFS. It would bring so much life into this wonderful sim. Just imagine Spa Francorchamps and a field of GTR's blasting trough Eau Rouge... Think about the feeling of bringing the STCC series to tracks featured in WTCC (IRL that is). And what about Nürburgring, with the Nordschleife?

Please...

So we have the same converted stuff like in other games...NO THANKS!

I much prefer wait a year for a great Eric track (which IMO are the best fantasy tracks) then have Spa (Doesnt exite me at all driving it, every game has it).
would love suzuka, monza and spa, possibly istanbul as well.

that would really make lfs great

Doesn't mean a thing, wrong answers to choose from and by the looks of it, not many voted as well...
Airfield tracks? No thanks

Just my opinion of course.

And all 3 are present in a certain PS2 based racing sim that many poor souls claim to be the best racing game "evar". There was a joke involved, have a sense of humor.
I have a sence of humor, but i dont get why i should be getting made fun of for not thinking that GT4 sucks. I like it, because its not like needforspeed and a bunch of other racing games, where the physics are completley unrealistic.

Anyways, i can see why they wouldnt choose nurburgring as a track, because its pretty damn big. Anyone think a mountain pass/touge track would be fun?
Mainly because it's no where near as good as Enthusia for console realistic-ness of physics. Yet many people seem to think it's the best thing since sliced bread.

Cheers,
Matt.

that is bullshit, GT4 is the most realiatic driving game(mabe not for racing but for driving yeah) nyway id like to see mabe monza added, spa, brands hatch, nurburing (the whole circuit) and mabe a hill climb sprint, i recomend booley bay in jersey.
I guess you have never played Enthisua, lol.

Cheers,
Matt.

It's not his fault, the cover told him..
GT4 is no where near as good as enthusia or LFS.

Lets start with something simple. Hop into a 700 horsepower rear wheel drive car in GT4, take traction control off and slam the gas. The wheels spin and it takes off in a nice straight line. Do the same in Enthusia and youve gotta keep the rear end under control, because one tyre might lose grip before the other and the rear end will try to swap around on you.

Both have the Nordeschliefe, and people grumble because the version in Enthusia is not only more accurate but also beautiful, BECAUSE IT ISNT PERFECTLY SUNNY.

GT4's dumbed down. It's okay for cutting your teeth, but the real meat of sim racing isnt there. On the PS2 its Enthusia, and on the PC its LFS.

Enthusia is a pretty cool game, but the lotto style way of winning cars and upgrades is pretty annoying. However, for the Licence tests, grand tourismo has the best/ most fun. Then comes enthusia, which they call it "driving revolution", and then the "training mode" in LFS isnt too great.

Eeither way, i think GT4 is still a more fun game to play then enthusia, but they are both great games.
i note how you didnt touch on the physics aspect, which is the very core of the sim. I'm sorry but GT4 just sucks. Every car ndersteers like it's front wheel drive, and the only cars that handle neutrally are the ones that would oversteer heavily IRL. as an example take the lotus Elise. A very very responsive car, bordering on twitchy. In GT4, very easy to drive and far too forgiving. in Enthusia, you ned to pay attention to your grip much more, as each tyre's grip is handled separately, it's easy to lock a rear tyre and turn it around.

Theres no need for 40 different skyline versions from various years, the top grades of each body style would hav been perfectly acceptable and not made finding the car you actually WANT in your list of cars harder. 600 different cars that all fall into maybe 16 different categories is un neccisary.

Enthusia's lack of a cash system frees you from the "buy car -> earn money -> buy parts -> buy faster car" monotony of the GT series. due to the level up system its possible to stick withone car youre comfortable with for most of the game.

since this has gotten off topic i'm going to just make my next point and then go back on topic.

You've managed to defend GT4's "flavor" thats all, the physics engine and handling dynamics are dumbed down to the point of being laughable once youve experienced a real sim. Once you go LFS you dont go back.

Even though i dont think any of the beginners would drive on it, i think mount panorama would be a great track for the sim. Its a challenge for the more advanced players.

Of course, I've been thinknig about driving up to Lexington with a petition to try to get the management of Mid Ohio Sports Car Course to allow a reproduction of thier course.

Anyone any good at amking a petition web page so that i could print it all off at once?
ok yes the car choice is weird, but if u drive with the wheel tht was desined for it, its realy realistic, i still say the racing is crap
no, not really. I'm pretty sure ive put in more miles in a real car vs GT4 than you have given your age. While its cool at first i can tell you it's an OK sim not a great one. Some things are simply bollocks, but it hink it does better with car to car collisions that LFS right now
