Seems to me the tension boils down to more or less what you find at the seaside. On the one hand, you have a bunch of people surfing the waves, or paddling dinghies, or paddling/swimming about, all shouting about how nice the water is, to the people on the beach who are either sitting around drinking beer, playing volleyball, pumping iron, waving off wasps, or standing at the water's edge, deciding which wave they're gonna jump in on.. as long as there aren't sharks.. IF they're gonna jump at all..
There are those that are happy on the beach, catching some sun, and there are those who are only happy when they're catching a good 15' wave. If there IS any tension, it's that they almost all head to the seaside for different reasons. As long as they're happy.. what does it matter to anyone else?
