actually you can disable those flying things too, do the next:
Go to Euro/BnK and there is a folder named details, change it to BAK_details. Now you dont have that flying stuff anymore
If you want to turn off traffic, go to Euro/Bnk/Vehicules and there is folder named traffic. Rename it to trafficx and no traffic anymore! Except AI Racers.
Must say that I am _almost_ enjoying this game, getting reasonable framerates even with my Athlon XP3400/64 + 6600gt + 1Gb RAM...however, I will exchange a performance tip for another..
My Tip..turn off ALL unnecessary processes before starting TDU, free up as much processor/ram powah as possible!
Tip Needed.. How the F*** can I avoid those stoopid bumps that throw you all over the road (the ones caused by the low-poly road mesh!)
That glitch is really spoiling the game for me..and ruining my chances of getting pefect scores with the hitchhikers, delivery jobs (drug smuggling?) and models.. get almost to destination and bloody road throws me into oncoming traffic
The low poly roads are silly alright. It's never actually caused me an issue, I just slow down enough to not hit traffic I did find another bug last night actually - all my stats (cars bought, houses bought etc) are all like -362323204ish
Still fun though.
Jakg - what do you not like about the graphics? What is not to like?
Ahh...you must mean 145 km/h. I was scratching my head. Is this in hardcore mode or hypersport?
It certainly is fun and relaxing. It's a sort of fantasy escape from reality to this other world where you have a fantastic home and lots of exotic cars in the garage.
I love that you can add a playlist or shortcuts to your mp3's to your radio folder. You can create multiple custom radio stations. Driving around while listening to music is pretty cool. When your racing you can listen change to rap/rock. When you're cruising maybe easy listening.
I think I played for 5 hours yesterday.
You should report any potholes or bumps to the Oahu DOT
If you mean the no-so-smooth hills just ease off the gas and watch your speed when going over and all is fine.
Smooth hills would be awesome but to fair to the dev, it's a lot of road.
QUESTION:
I have never driven of stick so I don't know. In LFS if I floor the gas at say 2nd gear, the engine will make a constant steady sound but in TDU it makes a voom...voom...voom...sound...when I floor it on a low gear. What's up?
It's very annoying and the throttle is so sensitive that's it's hard to just drive on gear 3 or 4 without that sound.
i don't know WHY i don't like them, the car shots are SWEET, but the other cars (AI) just look crap compared to what i'm used to
all aids off, although i haven't completed the game, 145 MPH.
I know what i mean, the corner wasn't that tight, it was one step down from a motorway, and although i could feel the rear was sliding a little, the speed wasn't dropping, there were no sounds telling me so and the car wasn't sliding the whole way round, the rear just squirmed a bit, but it was sort of like the corners at KY GP Long, but i was doing them at 145 in a sodding fwd hatchback
I want to be able to drive at the rev limit without hearing that sound.
Is there a way to remove or change the rev limiter so it's more like LFS (steady high pitched sound)?
Or is there a way to adjust the throttle sensitivity so I can keep it just under the limit easily?
If I press the peddle 30% I already hit the rev limit. Is there anyway to change the sensitivity of the peddle?
I tried the Logitech Profiler for my MOMO. I set the "sensitivity" down to the lowest but nada. Maybe I'm not using it right--ever had to use it before. LFS has in game calibration.
Hmm, I *thought* that TDU had sensitivity sliders. Maybe it was just for the wheel? I can't recall right now... But I do find the pedals quite sensitive also, but I never had that problem. Starts are another thing
I have driven such car, Quattro rally car, gear ratios were just too short so it topped at limiter. Don't know any standard car however.
In limiter you set rpm and how many sparks to cut etc, of course depends from ecu, standard ecus of course are not adjustable and some older systems don't even had ecu, mechanical systems
Now today with cars with cats there is mostly fuel cut instead of spark cut, that can be made very smooth, boring and not fun at all
Well, im slowly falling for this game, played it all night, bought myself a new house, an Alfa GT, a 350Z Nismo (best car in the E class that i could find at the time!), a Maserati-something (although wish i'd bought the DB9) and a Z06, which i LOVE, if purely because with a straight bit of road i got to 193 MPH, just a little further
Audi TT - Soon to be sold
350z "R" Tune - Fully Tuned
Caterham - Fully Tuned
Ducati Something - fook me thats quick
Edit - One thing that i cant seem to do is add my gamespy account to my already existing Profile, which is annoying, as i dont want to do that all over...
Well Jak, this Hardcore mode is a lot better.. in a very fast car you really have SUCH a speed difference (150+mph vs sometimes a car standing still!) you have to decide what you're going to do the instant you see the traffic..
The Koenigsegg will wheelspin up and until 3rd gear, its a real gentle application of power. Its not UBER realistic but good enough, certainly many times better than the 'normal' physics mode you're playing!
Shame you can't play the game in hardcore mode though, with the savegame 'cheat' you basically did most races it seems. I had a blast in 'unrealistic' mode as well, cruisin, delivering babes, etc..
How do i tune cars? i have a Nismo 350Z, but alot of the TDU "races" are almost all flat out and it just doesn't catch the mustangs as quick as i want!
Four questions i have. yeah, theres a bunch of pages, but i didnt want to read every single post of every page. I read the first page, read this page, i took part in some of the pages, but so far i ahvnt seen the answers to these.
1.) Look at this vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cj7u8rxHVa8 . Notice the maximum the wheel turns is like 20 degrees. Is it always like this? is this just a stupid thing that the designers of game skipped?
2.) is there any online mode for the game? Servers/rooms you can go to? stuff like that?
3.) is there damage modeling? i know it wont be realistic, but is some of it atleast there?
4.) Is there nightime? Is it gunna be like LFS land, where its always daylight, and it never changes?
To the people who decide not to yell at me and actualy answer what they know, thank you.
