As for polling normal users/racers about it; I dont think many would give 2 shits. As long as they can race and as long as its stable many wouldnt mind, nor notice the difference. Its a pure geeky administration thing.
As a little aside, running an LFS daemon on a webserver might be against your ToS - its something you should really check. Sometimes theres even restrictions if you've got a physical or virtual rented dedicated server. Unless if you've bought rackspace and are colocating the server, of course.
LFS can really eat through your bandwidth allowance too

As said through this thread, you can run LFS on your linux servers. You just need to have the privileges to install and configure certain packages
