Simsocks
Hi there!

For the important Races I usually wear a particullar pair
of purple (thick) skiing socks, with an odd greenish square patterned surface.
My wife knows that she has to spare me for a while, when I put those on in my special pre-race ritual;
which comes with a "racing-pillow for my leopard-patterned raceseat an some other oddities...

Greeting, Dandy

Shorts FTW

Shorts are awesome.

I wear whatever I happen to have on my feet when I start playing. Although I do agree it feels a bit odd wearing shoes. Its probably something to do with the soles making the pedals feel slightly higher up than usual.
about 6 or 7 years ago a group of us took over a cybercafe to hold a toca2 event. Everyone had to bring their own wheels and peddals and it was quite amusing to watch everyone set up their wheel, install the game and then remove their shoes before racing.

i use my kart racing shoes, not because i'm wear, but because i my 3pedals frexgp modifed combo are very stiff and it hurts if i only use socks.
Always preferred socks as you can slide your feet around better than without them, and oh well, I don't use shoes indoors. Did drive bare feet sometimes but not anymore as the G25 pedals can be so dam cold!
Socks definitely! Preferably thick winter socks to prevent the sharp G25 pedal edges hurting my feet. Heel-toeing gets a lot more comfortable that way.

Anyone ever raced in tighty-whiteys and running shoes? My family won't let me live that one down. I've tried every combination I could think up and I always go back to boxers/barefeet. My if my seat angle were different(office chair) I would be fine with jeans and sneakers but for my setup my boxers and wife-beater are the best(it's very hot in my office when I close my doors to keep from bothering the household with my Z-5500s turned up as loud as I can stand.)
when I would wear shoes, I would get into trouble because of the size of my feet. In german measure I have size 50 (I could press all three pedals in a car with one feet at the same time ). Heel&Toe is almost impossible, more like Heel&Heel for me
Slippers? Back in my Momo days anyway

The G25 pedals are too close, I need to go barefoot or the sides of my slippers catch.
Fuzzy socks ftw. Does anyone use SimSocks?

shoes only, with socks I slide of the pedals too easy for some reason..
I've got some LFS sim socks
They're a bit of a wank but they're better than normal socks, the extra padding helps, especially on the heel in long races.
Yeah i normally race in socks but very often in slippers aswell, there is enough feeling coming through so its fine!
I use socks only here . I tried just my feet a while ago but thing is, my bro uses slippers or shoes when he drives, he tells me that he gets a better feel from using them I dunno how, but he does. Anyway, I wear socks not to get my feet dirty from his filthy soled shoes .

Climbing in front of the PC getting ready to race in socks at your home doesn't sound all that strange. But looking at it in the context of going to a cybercafe and everyone taking their shoes off to race is pretty funny.
Socks for me all the way!!

I got speshul padded bottom socks so its real nice. I tried barefoot a couple of nights ago, but almost got a blister on me accelerator foot due to the ridges on the DFP pedals (yea i got weak wimpy soles).
Socks. I tried racing with shoes once, but couldn't get the same feel and I was afraid my DFPs pedals would break down.
I am thinking to switching to shoes when I get my 3 pedal set, heel and toeing just doesn't work with socks only.
Sometimes I use sneakers - I have quite hard pedals and after long racing with only socks my feet kinda hurt..
Fireproof, steel-toed socks only.

I am just wondering, are these kind of "socks" sold anywhere? I'm not talking about the sim socks which were sold at dE (?). I'd be more interested of similar racing socks like that. I'm asking because those would be quite ideal to use with 3 pedals and would be quite easy to put on/take off too?
Quote from SamH :Shorts FTW, but I wear shorts 52 weeks in the year.. even when it snows! I'm notorious for it

In public too? Thats disguisting lol. Im wear jeans or suit when out but shorts all the rest of the time like you Glad im not the only one.

Bare foot for me though. If i am wearing socks i will take them off to play lfs, so in times of playing lfs i end up with a sock pile by my pc.
i have to use socks, way more control lol
I can drive with any shoes, even mafia-concrete ones...

...because I use a Joystick
i just use socks and slippers, sometimes only socks
