haha awesome story rappa

i hired TDU out on the PS2. Gotta go back today which sucks. Its a fun game. However not being able to sell cars sucks. I have a house with 4 spaces i buy an Alfa followed by a Skyline then a Ford GT and the other space is filled by some crappy muscle car i won. So i buy another house and its filled with 2 AC cars and a Lotus straight away. Freakin annoying! And the races suck. The only ones i do are the speed cameras and time trials which give me $20,000.

Doesnt seem to be any Ferraris in the PS2 version
Well, I got a 360 on Monday and figured I'd rent the 360 version of TDU. To my surprise BlockBuster didn't carry it in at all, so I rented Project Gotham Racing 3.

lol.
oh and another thing the cockpit view sucks on PS2. the camera isnt fixed and still moves a little after you turn which makes it feel like your floating or swimming .
@Scrabby

Hehe well I haven't checked exact fps, but I can tell it runs absolutely smooth everywhere in every situation, so it must be very good fps
Yep I have to say the game is really enjoyable at everything maxxed out and good fps lol, its such a casual game though, good for a cruise when you're bored - not to be taken seriously really.
Tbh the only game I take seriously these days is CS:S - I do take that pretty seriously though.
I have a question about TDU.

I was gonna go right out to the store and buy it on my 360 but I have a question.

Does it have realistic damage? I mean like if you crash at 100+ MPH and hit something will your car get car damage (bumpers falling off, wheels, ect)??
bumpers don't fall off in TDU, no
In a typical game when you hit a car, niether car gets damage. In TDU, you still don't get damage, but other cars do.

I have been playing for a week on my new computer. On a 22 inch LCD with max graphix and no lag or sturring it is a crap load of fun.

No dude, In a typical game when 2 cars collide they COLLIDE and get extreme damage.

But since I know how bad TDU's damage engine is, I won't bother to pick it up.
Only traffic gets damaged, none of the 'player cars.'
Ive played the PC version, for about an hour then stopped, was initially impressed with all the incar functionality, free look radio lights horns all that crap, but the drive is boring.

Well some people, like me, wanna see their car and the other car they crashed into damage a little.

I'll wait for NFS Pro Street then because it looks promising in the damage catagory.
Oh yea, I know damage is important for some. I was just adding that only traffic is damaged.

I know but I crave total carnage looool.
Try Burnout or Flatout. Both have pretty nice damage models.
You need to unlock hardcore mode to really enjoy it, If you do it the honest way it will probably take you half of your life to do it, but I cheated and downloaded a save game file. Basically it does exactly what it says on the tin, its more realistic and you actually need to brake well before a turn to make it round.

You might think 'but why do this, why cheat' well I have 1.5million to spend on my online profile, however the graphics have completely fudged up and its not playable. I guess I will need to wait for this new patch thing before I can buy my Mclaren F1 GTR

yep, hardcore mode is the real fun.
i always play in H mode never arcade.
and btw...u dont need long to unlock it.
took me 3 days

if u want fast money - reach champion level then there is a top speed challenge what takes about 20-25 sec and ur 75k richer
There's this one challenge, that doing a 180 and going down that path, instead of following the route, its an essy 10K every about 20 seconds, but thats near the beginning of the game.

I think it has the best damage modelling of all pc driving games.

that game is so crap.
seriously.
ive tried it, i hated it.
NFS is a dream compared to that pile of......
Carmageddon and Viper racing has had damage, it is possible to make damage to be quite nice in rFactor and Screamer 4x4, but most of games does not have damage or they do have 'damage' which is nowhere near realistic (yes LFS falls into this category too).

Damage is good when you are afraid to hit wall at 50kph...
The trouble with having damage in TDU is that a lot of supercar manufacturers are very funny about having their cars look bad in any way whatsoever. Ferrari for example have only very recently allowed their cars in any game that is even remotely realistic for the simple reason that when asked before they'd reply 'only if you make them the best and fastest cars in the game' which kind of defies the point really.

For a game like TDU where the major selling point is the sheer number of cars, they had to make the decision of either damage modelling or a drastically reduced number of cars they could include.

I think its an ace game. I love seeing just how fast I can drive whilst still vaguely respecting things like lane discipline, only overtaking when you think you can, etc, especially on the really twisty mountain roads near the top of the map.

I love doing that, it's a blast when you need a break from LFS.
It's kind of a shame there isn't more "Functionality" in hardcore mode. The physics in HC mode are actually better than ISI as far as I am concerned, and the game is pretty fun in HC mode. The ability to run AI races would be nice.

Any Canadian / American LFSers play TDU much? Add me to your list, "LiveForSpeedBBT".
I've been playing a lot. I got 2 houses, 8 cars(Audi A3, Nismo R-Tune Power, Lotus Espirit, Lotus Exige, Saleen S281, Caterham CSR, Ferrari F430, and a Lambo Murcielago), and 2 motorcycles(the lower class MV agusta, and a Ducati 999r). Everything i have is stage 3.

Tommorow i plan on beating the millionare's challenge and then i'll be just 310,000 short of a Mclaren F1 GTR.

my name: RappaZ
