On monday, I was bringing a CRT from a shelf to a table in the electronics room at school. I tripped over a CAT 5e cable, and hit my ulna on a 4cm thick wood table. It hurt, so I went to the doctor on tuesday. I got some x-rays taken, and the radiologist said that I had a slight fracture. So, today, I just got back from the orthopedist, and they made me get a cast! Apparently if I hit my arm a second time, then it would have broken all of the way through, and I would have needed to get my arm cut open! **I think I should sue my school**, because now I have to type with one hand (a dvorak keyboard would come in handy right now ), and I also have final exams next week! I can barely write. Although, I can still drive thank goodness.



**Note: Apparently, as an American, I'm not allowed to be sarcastic without bring attacked...

It wouldn't hurt to see a solicitor and get a professional opinion! I dont agree with the world suing each other but people have insurance for a reason!

I know a guy that got £10000 because he put his arm through a window at school and severed his tendons just before his exams. The schools windows were not safety glass!. That was perhaps a little more serious though since he could of lost his arm and is now ( 13 years later) left with a scar from his wrist to his inner elbow!

In my school, one of my friends broke his arm and had to get a scribe. She wrote everything down for him, he was really lucky as she was such a good-looking teacher

Well firstly auch! sorry to hear that you have damaged yourself.. especially before you exams, that sucks! and secondly why sue your school? I really don't get this just because something happened to someone rather than blaming yourself for maybe making a mistake, not noticing a wire you blame the school for putting the wire there. What do you expect? should the school clear the path ahead of you whilst you carry the crt???

I know you might have been joking but i have heard of cases like the supermarket one mentioned above where people just go out of their way to sue. If you can't reach the shelf well tough shit, your too short, simply and kindly ask a member of staff to help you to lower the item....

The McDonals example is also quite funny, ok so I go to frequently McDonalds where I order a super size meal I know and have heard that McDonals is not the most healthiest food out there. Few months later I find out that I am fat and that it is harming my health.. hell i am going to sue them, they made me fat! I recon we should sue people for being stupid!

You want to sue the school (not that you know how), just because of a lousy injury in which you even had the time to recognize what exact type of cable it is? Sounds brilliant if you ask me, even if you were to sue the school you'd lose a whole lot more money than if you were to just let it go, suing for such and such money doesn't mean you'll get that money, thats just a figure that has absolutely nothing to do with anything really.

Otherwise, sorry to hear about your injury, sounds quite agonizing.

Also wheel, you don't need a seperate bloody keyboard to type with dvorak, I can use dvorak with my G15, or any other keyboard on this planet, just by using the multi-lingual keyboard settings in control panel and adding dvorak to the input menu. Also suing is just ****ing dumb, but it would really show the whole "I'm an american, lets sue for me missing my plane becuase I left home after the plane left" kind of mentality. Who cares that you broke your arm at school? I broke my hand at school, did I sue the kid that slide-checked me in gym which was co-incidental? No. Did I sue the school? No. Did I sue minor hockey for the time I lost playing? No. Suing does nothing unless you suffer personal monetary loss from it, like some **** not paying a loan, not stupid shit like tripping over a cable and hurting your arm.

Hope you're joking about suing the school - the one thing that will get all the Yank-bashers out of the woodwork is an American living up to a stereotype And you should know better than to carry bulky loads like CRT monitors without the correct equipment OR without clearing a path for yourself. Remember, kids: Health & Safety regulations are there for your protection ... and the school's liability

Or maybe you should just sue the Bush Administration for not advising the Homeland of an Amber Alert: Elevated Cable-Trippage Threat Level ...

Yes. I did not really mean I was going to sue the school. I'm just amazed that I injured my bone that way. It was a damn hard table!

People just don't take long to make fun of me just because I'm American. I took my flag down, but people still know I'm American.
