The online racing simulator
Quote from Cawwa :We have discussed the time a little. Both 20 and 21 UTC is just to late, 20 utc means 22 cest and we are talking about event starting.
Hard to get ppl to run that late, at least on a sober level ...

Heheheh
Last season was 20UTC and you guys still did well sober or non sober
Well if last seson was 20 UTC why can't we use the same starting time?
@Cawwa: Even 22CEST is not too late
Tricky problem

I would go for a start around 18 utc, worst cause 19 utc.
The options 20 or 21 utc are quite late considering the majority of the racers are in Europe.
We'll see here this thread leads us

and @ Arrow

Yes we did ... but it wasn't easy to get ppl at that hour ... asfaIk they where all sober and dandy but you never know these days ...
We are a small team with only 7 members so there's isn't plenty of drivers to choose from.
But as said from other teams here, pick the time and we'll do our best. PREFERABLE no later then 19.00 utc.
Reason we can't use anything before 20utc is because fusion's aussie drivers. 20utc is 6am for us, which means you gotta get up at 5.30, to get woken up, warmed up and that. i was happy with 10/11 utc, which is night time for us, but that didn't work for the majority, so 20utc is pushing it, but it's do-able..just.
i hope we can resolve a time soon... thanks for being so patient guys
Another vote for 19 UTC. Consider that's 21:00 for us Europeans and 22:00 for Finns. Not all of us live alone in an apartment but have parents close by sleeping. That's the problem.
The 3 Timezones are are 11UTC, 20UTC, 21UTC
I will Setup a Poll
I've been in these discusion before. The time zones fact is a hard nut to crack.
We have discussed to run a BOTT before you Fusion guys started yours, so we never launched it. The format is completely different though.

What it should solve is the main issue here ... the time zone issue.

If you guys are opened and interested in changing format to something completely different it would be a solution to the problem. But before I suggest the format I want to see if there really is any interest in changing format or if you consider it as to late to change at all.

So ... ?
And it was said that 19 UTC wasn't suggested many times. IMO just on the last page, it was and it could easly be added to the poll, just to silence us, 19-UTC-wannabees (or to show we are correct and make it 19 UTC).

It cant be 19 utc mate thats like 5am for me which is pretty much impossible sorry.
Arrow: I think ur idea of 50/50, half the races start at 11utc & half at 20/21UTC is probably the best compromise you can come up with. You are in the difficult situation of most of the teams/drivers being European & Fusion the organisng team being Australian.
I can understand not wanting to get up at 6am in the morning (bleary eyed) to play LFS. The big problem is if you open it up to vote the majority will win, so we need a bit of understanding from everyone that this is a world wide event & some small sacrifices will have to be made.

The fact of the matter is there is no ideal start time for everyone.

p.s: Where can I have my say about race format?
