I think they should create an add-on garage where you can completely assemble a on road car or off road car(if possible) completely... like engine creation... and of course up grades in one shape of form with actual horsepower gains and losses cause you know sum cars don't like certain up grades after you've done so many things to a setup(real life) and it starts robbing you of power.... anywayz I'ma come up with more trust me... I'ma hardcore drifter in real life and luv this game and I'm upgrading in maybe a week or two... anywayz everyone ADD ADD ADD!!!! INPUT INPUT INPUT.. Latez

How does it undermine the concept I think that LFS has more than proven itself to EVERYONE and I luv tha game and everyone else does also I'm just saying MORE options (mine may have been a little ricey... ok maybe alittle more than ricey) but I'm lookin for more actual race scene options like an add-on package for people that actually do it... not just circuit racing... what happen to time attack and the drift scene (in it entirety) I don't see no dolls hangin from no LFS drifters rear bumper??? thats all I'm saying...

This isn't NFS or Gran Turismo. To be honest you're barking up the wrong tree asking for that kind of stuff at this forum (just like the several hundred people who've asked for exactly the same things before you - the search function is your friend). LFS is an indie simulator made by three dedicated developers and the focus has always been on racing, pure and simple. Nothing I've read in the four years I've owned it gives me any reason to think that will change.

But hey, I'll cut you some slack because you're a demo racer who wouldn't have seen the full content this game has, plus you only signed up, like, last week and haven't had a lot of time to look around and check the forum out

Well, to get online with the Demo version, from the main menu, you should click Multiplayer, then Display list of Games, wait for the server list to refresh, and then find a server, most likely that says drift in its name, and join it, and have fun. In S2, there are many drift servers too, but currently it's LX month, so many people are mucking aound in their LX4 and LX6's.

It wouldn't work. To do it 'right' the engines will need to work like real one. You clearly have no idea how engines work, or how to tune them, and therefore your suggestion would be completely wasted on you (and the thousands like you who either don't know or don't care about how engines work).

Thus it would be a waste of time spending two or three years coding this 'sub-game' alone.

I'ma mechanic and I have a federal JOB and I'm prior Military and I do KNOW engines and I know german engineering kinda sort of and yes it would be possible (i wasn't saying it had to be as in depth as you came off) but yes it can be done its BEEN done with older styles of video game on XBOX and as with computer programming I'm sure with a crash course I could get back engouhb skill to tinker with it but I have a kid now so most of my time is goin to her bros... but yeah its possible and I do!!! Your right though that would take that long or even longer... ok scrath that what else could we do to make it more appealing on another level that would make cnet be like OMFG...lmao

But you started saying how certain upgrades will lose you power after a certain point - if they do that then you haven't thought about what you're doing. Upgrades UP GRADE your engine. Putting a snow plough on the car is an upgrade for clearing snow, but not for making the car fast. And you wouldn't put one on to make it faster...

Since August 2003. Not as long as some. Glad people told you to look out for me - I'll tell you how I see it, and I won't pander to you (or anyone) or be nice to people unless they deserve it. Soul, there's a reason there's an error/bug/tech help section - because the developers (who are most likely the ones who can help you) actually read it. They don't generally read this bit ... for some reason. Also, do yourself a favour and ditch the "I'd own you at LFS anyway" attitude. NHRA 2005, NHRA 2007 and I think the otha one is sega rally ( but I'm not putting money on that cause my hommie has the game I'll ask him if you really wanna know... ) but yeah theres NFS carbon which is ok but its tooooooooooooo ricey.. no true aspect of racing but it does have alotttttttttttt of positive points that i do enjoy like the speed shift and you gain momentum.... There's no point having that kind of upgrading system, because eventually people will work out what upgrades work best on which track, and then everyone will use that same one. The result would be that everyone ends up using the same upgrades, meaning that you have a full field of cars which are exactly the same. And guess what? That's exactly what we have now.
