Well, to be honest, I might've bashed Soul too, but it'd already been done by the time I got here, so now I'm being "good cop"

Thats whats up... I'ma go check it out now... next week I'ma be a S@ user also and hopefully you all will be hommies but I dunno... you all have a sick hate for demo users... am I gonna be the same way???
Quote from Dajmin :I really wish I could put this in my signature, because I'm starting to get RSI from typing it now.

There's no point having that kind of upgrading system, because eventually people will work out what upgrades work best on which track, and then everyone will use that same one. The result would be that everyone ends up using the same upgrades, meaning that you have a full field of cars which are exactly the same. And guess what? That's exactly what we have now.

So why don't you just imagine that you've turned your XRT exhaust into a potato gun, added bodywork made from your cupboard to increase drag (not downforce!) and turn up th bass on your speakers to give the effect of "yuor awsom suond syteemz0rz!11!" (because huge magnets must increase performance, right?)?

Dajmin OMG LMAO funny dude
Quote from dawesdust_12 :I didn't intend to bash him, I calmly pointed a few things out which he misconstrue (hurray for thesaurases) outta proportion.

On an unrelated note, and to quote a great man:

"Cocaine's a hell of a drug."

Your kool in my book!!! I'm just too relaxed and took it the wrong way man... my bad...

Nah man, I was kidding. Dead-set demo-haters are very much in the minority around here. Hell, we were all demo n00bsters once

Anyhoo, welcome to LFS, say "buh bye" to your social life

I know right my social life is gone... lol
Quote from SouL_NeMesiS :See I didn't even need all that... bro with 153 posts go somewhere I might not be registered yet but I will be next week I'd own you at LFS probly but anyways why don't you help me maybe we'll be on the same team one day dang mannnnnnnnnn

You might not have felt you needed it, but you did really
I look forward to you owning me. Plenty already do - I'm only 300th or something in the LX competition (with a 1m18, yet I've done a low 1m15. But every time I do well I clip a cone or two, or lag makes the server thing I took the wrong route. I'll keep trying, and I WILL get my 15 in!).

And no, you won't be in the same team as me. At least not within a couple of years.

What a waste of database space!

If you want THAT kind of sim... go spam DriversRepublic.net before they release their public beta! Maybe they will do that!

And crackheads make for terrible drifters!

Why are you being negative, yes his ideas are repetitive, but atleast he's showing enthusiasm to LFS. I think that your post is the real waste of DB space, not his.
Quote from SouL_NeMesiS :I'ma hardcore drifter in real life

Seems that 90% of people online are 'real life drifters'

Possibly because whatever language that is that he's typing in makes the entire US look quite bad. I could hardly understand half of what I was reading. He states he's a mechanic, has a federal job, and was in the military, yet can't speak 3 words together in proper English (even if it is "American English ) and, oh my, knows german engineering!

Makes me feel quite lucky that I have friends and family, rather than just "bros and hommies."
Mike, I'd be scared if you had "hommies", what the hell are they. Did you mean "Homies"?...

I understand where you're coming from, but some people need to calm the **** down sometimes.

LOL, see, I don't know the language.

Tristan what are you playing at? I'm beating you (by 0.01 of a second)
I'm too slow, I blame it on the booze and pizza, making my car heavier.
Quote from ajp71 :Tristan what are you playing at? I'm beating you (by 0.01 of a second)

What I'm NOT playing at is LFS - too little practice recently, and my efforts in the competition are quick 20 minute sessions. I never feel relaxed and settled, or comfortable.

But even if I was I don't think I'd be as fast as Kev - that guy has improved drastically over the last year!!!!
May I ask a question? WHAT ON EARTH is "german engineering"?

I actually enjoyed reading this thread, watched it almost slip into the eternal depths of flaming spam hell and had to recognise it went back to a somewhat higher level again .

@Soul: I enjoy seeing enthusiastic people in the forums, maybe you might want to write some sentences which a german "engineer" also can understand . It's sometimes hard for me to understand you (no offence intended), as I always try to improve my crappy english.

move on, get S2 and feel the eternal powers of LFS!

No way! You've just got to read his posts in an appropriate voice. Have you ever heard Parliament's "Clones of Dr Funkenstein" album?

Quote from tristancliffe :I don't think I'd be as fast as Kev - that guy has improved drastically over the last year!!!!

I suppose there are some other Kevs. You can't be talking about me because I'm not even in the top 100 - I got as high as about 60 then bounced down over the last two days.

I've got slower in the last six months if anything - I've hardly had any time for LFS at all this year.
Parliament for the ultimate win! Had no idea how funkadelic you were, Kev.
OOoookkay... Don't think this thread is really improvements anymore, moving to the offtopic section.

@der butz, it's from a volkswagon commercial.

So Kev, How's that WR coming along?

You don't need to be smart to be in the military. It is usually school drop outs who become grease monkeys/join the army/get a federal job (look at Bush), and the scary thing is, that mass of letters is still better English than 98% of users on the Internet.

Reading this thread gave me an aneurysm.
Although I can't drift to save my life and have no intention of starting, I can see a lot of drifters point of view in a lot of posts on this forum, no matter how eloquently it is put across. There are no games that actually *simulate* what is a very physics-oriented pastime. If you are into the drift scene, NFS or GT on 'drift mode' (aargh) is about as good as you are going to get.

Its almost certainly not going to be an edition of LFS, but the niche is certainly there for a 'real' NFS-style game.
The fact is that LFS' nature means it has the best drifting physics, therefore it will attract drifters. ISI engines have unrealistic grip curves, Papyrus sims don't feature driftable cars, GT has glaring problems and NFS is arcade.

EDIT: To the OP, are you from Florida?
i thought when you car car simulation you inculde the tuning , assembly and modification of the cars... now o i wonder which person i should flame first ( )
