Ou, yea, i saw that, but didn't think of it that way... I don't want to believe that Alonso came so low.. No, it must've been something else, some problem, i don't know... if it is that what you guys are suggesting, then i don't know what to say..
That's a point, maybe Alonso's aim wasn't to ruin Hamilton's chances. IIRC most F1 drivers don't know much themselves about how much time they have left to leave the pits etc...
Alonso did look very worried indeed in the PC, and very relieved when they didn't ask him too many questions.
if someone can be penalised for deliberately blocking someone opportunity of a flying lap...
schumacher at monaco and alonso at monza ....comes to my mind.... then deliberately blocking someone's opportunity at a fast lap heralds the same penalty?????
the FIA rules probably stipulates blocking someone's 'flying' lap... but to deliberately block someone from having that opportunity is worse?????
It may be worse but it isn´t against the rules. FIA couldn´t possibly punish someone for standing in their own pit box even if it meant holding up the teamate. It´s the teams´ internal issue. The only one that can punish Alonso is Mclaren.
Alonso was Miffed as the team held him for 10 - 15 sec in the previous pit stop but it was obvious the team were just holding him so they could release him into space ontrack.
What he did on his last pitstop was blatent cheating, from Hamilton's point of view I see it as a good example that Alonso cannot run at the pace of Hamilton and it goes to show just how much pressure Alonso is under to resort to such underhanded tactics.
I would LMAO if the FIA put Alonso back 10 places for baulking a fellow competitor, as I'm sure Ferrari may report it and the FIA will have to then look into it....... I do not know the rules but there may be a case to answer if blocking also cover's the pit lane also, and if the rules state a fellow competitor that would have to include your team mate also would it not
Anyway time will only tell but I would not be surprised if Ferrari reported it in an attempt to level the playing field with Massa starting from 14th
He didnt go either on First Lap Attempt, he waited a sign from the McLaren Engineers Wall , in fact you can see how he looks at the Wall several times. The lollipop in Qually is just to indicate a free pit lane to go.
Im not defending Alonsos move, but I understand that was a Team's Mistake, Alonso was around 5 seconds waiting and Hamilton miss the light for more than 10 seconds.
Hamilton went around 17 laps the same as Alonso and Everyone, just Kimi was 18 laps. It was a mistake to extend an extra lap to attemp to gain fuel advantage, when They knew Alonso would be pitting at that moment.
Now it seems as Alonso's dirty trick. I'll wait to see how the afternoon goes...
and any official statement will be total BS anyway just to save face if nothing else, also after the court case Ferrari will be very quick to take advantage of any situation, not that they need excuses as it's normal scenario anyway.
I think people seeing Ron Dennis waving at Alonso to go, and the lollipop being up, while Alonslow looks in his MIRROR tells you all you need to know!!!!
The incident is being investigated. RD will be heard and the team radio will be reviewed. If it turns out that FA did what it looks like he did then he's a disgusting cheat.
If I were the FIA, I'd actually penalize Alonso because he was doing the same as blocking on the track (in qualifying), and should be penalized in the same matter.
