Quote from AndroidXP :Just go with it. I mean, what could possibly happen?
(You do have a fire extinguisher nearby, don't you?)

Seriously, guys, how about we let Darwin do his work?

agreed. guys, just don't respond to this idiot. he is either trying (badly) to wind you all up or he is naturally this stupid. either way we will have working pc's and he will be offline for a few weeks. it's win win for us.
harjun when i used to see you on track i always thought you drove like a gimp just because you can, now i know i'm wrong. your trying your very best.
if/when you buy your first car, buy a 1.0ltr fiesta and take it to the garage and ask the mechanics if the can bore out the engine to make it a V6. i am sure they will tell you the same stuff everyone has told you here (now in two threads). you should go away and use your own brain instead of annoying everyone elses.
i was just asking...but sorry , i am not trying to wind you up, i just wanna see some 3ghz or something high
#28 - Jakg
you are NOT going to get 3 GHz, you'll be lucky if you get 2 GHz because of the hardware, and you'll have temperature issues.
Quote from harjun :i was just asking...but sorry , i am not trying to wind you up, i just wanna see some 3ghz or something high

maybe instead of braking something trying to get this, why don't you sell/give away your laptop and get a desktop pc that with easily do what you want? nobody wants you to be sorry here, they just want you to stop being stupid. think about it............
this is the second thread dedicated to helping you overclock your laptop. you have been given advice and links which you have ignored. and you have then started this thread asking the exact same thing on the other thread. someone (jokingly) said you should just oc to 12ghz and you were so impressed with this you then asked if you could go to 7ghz. think about it....if your having this ammount of trouble trying to get 3ghz (stable) how the hell are you going to get 7ghz FROM A LAPTOP!!!!
do you go to overclockers forums asking for help with lfs? seriously dude, your fighting a losing battle. not only have you made yourself look like a numpty but you have confirmed to alot of people that your not the sharpest knife in the drawer. why can't you understand that what you are looking for is not possible with the hardware you have?

Exactly what I keep saying

If he doesn't listen this time Dadge, lets just let him do it himself. He'll have to find out the hard way.
Harjun, if you want it to go really fast, open up your laptop and pour some of your so loved red bull into it, I hear it gives you wings. That should make it real fast.
Oh, make sure it is turned on too.

But really, harjun, incase you haven't 'noticed' it obviously isn't a good idea to overclock a laptop, jakg has told you numerous times now that you'll have serious heating problems, and once you have those problems, the damage can be tolled, and never taken back. Once you overclock and it destroys your CPU, it is done, and the laptop is worthless. Just.. don't do it.

Laptops are made to be fully compatible, unlike desktops, meaning any alterations could [will] have drastic effects from performance decreases, to destruction of a laptop.

I don't know as much about computers as many other people here, but I hope you do realize that if you do overclock, and you happen to run it off your battery, then you will fry your battery too, seeing that the CPU would be drawing out much more power than before, and when those rates increase, battery life drastically decreases to the point where the laptop won't even last 15 minutes on the battery.

P.S. maybe a little less red bull will help on your side too.

Better delete this. He also believed the 12 Ghz thing.
but red bull might electrocute it wont it?
whether or not it will is not the issue. you will have the same result as overclocking to 3ghz. see, this is the thing. out of all the advice giving in the previous few posts, you decide that the red bull is the most important. seriously, your taking the piss

:ices_rofl
I HAVE asked how to do it on a lot of forums...i understand, i just am trying to find out my Pll
Harjun, have you ever thought if you're unsure about something.. maybe it isn't really a good idea to go ahead and try?

Better yet, did you happen to read the "WARNING" that said if you don't know what you're doing you are liable to destroy your computer and no one else is at fault except for yourself?
yep....look, i dont care whether you care about me blowing my computer up or what, i wont come complaining if anything happens ok?...i

have a spare desktop, i just wanna experiment with my laptop, i just wanna know if i get my pll right, and put it in, and then do pll control, and put it to my desired amount, and press apply, restart my computer, will i have what i want?
If a ruined laptop is what you want... yes.
ok thank you android XP...i just wanna put it to 1.66Ghz from 1.6Ghz
But why? You won't notice any difference with those additional 60MHz. But whatever, do what you want
i think i'll unsubscribe from this thread now.
ok ill put 2.16, another guy on a forum has put his aspire 5100 to 2.16...ill do it, he said its stable

But, has he modified anything else? Cooling perhaps?
nope...i read my manual which came with the laptop...it said, do not exceed 95 degrees for safety issues, right now im running less than 44 alll the time even with 100% load? , wierd but i think my laptop CAN cope

If you insist on clocking it up, do it slowly. Don't just go straight for your target, go up slowly..check its stable..check temperatures, then move up a little bit more.

!?!?!?!?!?!?

95 WILL KILL CPU. Anything above 60° will shorten it's life!
FYI: "Checking it's stable" isn't just seeing if it loads windows and sits at idle for 5 minutes, but that it can do some serious work (e.g. rendering, CPU intensive gaming, load tests, PCMark etc etc).
