you are NOT going to get 3 GHz, you'll be lucky if you get 2 GHz because of the hardware, and you'll have temperature issues.

maybe instead of braking something trying to get this, why don't you sell/give away your laptop and get a desktop pc that with easily do what you want? nobody wants you to be sorry here, they just want you to stop being stupid. think about it............
this is the second thread dedicated to helping you overclock your laptop. you have been given advice and links which you have ignored. and you have then started this thread asking the exact same thing on the other thread. someone (jokingly) said you should just oc to 12ghz and you were so impressed with this you then asked if you could go to 7ghz. think about it....if your having this ammount of trouble trying to get 3ghz (stable) how the hell are you going to get 7ghz FROM A LAPTOP!!!!
do you go to overclockers forums asking for help with lfs? seriously dude, your fighting a losing battle. not only have you made yourself look like a numpty but you have confirmed to alot of people that your not the sharpest knife in the drawer. why can't you understand that what you are looking for is not possible with the hardware you have?

Harjun, if you want it to go really fast, open up your laptop and pour some of your so loved red bull into it, I hear it gives you wings. That should make it real fast.

But really, harjun, incase you haven't 'noticed' it obviously isn't a good idea to overclock a laptop, jakg has told you numerous times now that you'll have serious heating problems, and once you have those problems, the damage can be tolled, and never taken back. Once you overclock and it destroys your CPU, it is done, and the laptop is worthless. Just.. don't do it.

Laptops are made to be fully compatible, unlike desktops, meaning any alterations could [will] have drastic effects from performance decreases, to destruction of a laptop.

I don't know as much about computers as many other people here, but I hope you do realize that if you do overclock, and you happen to run it off your battery, then you will fry your battery too, seeing that the CPU would be drawing out much more power than before, and when those rates increase, battery life drastically decreases to the point where the laptop won't even last 15 minutes on the battery.


P.S. maybe a little less red bull will help on your side too.

whether or not it will is not the issue. you will have the same result as overclocking to 3ghz. see, this is the thing. out of all the advice giving in the previous few posts, you decide that the red bull is the most important. seriously, your taking the piss

nope...i read my manual which came with the laptop...it said, do not exceed 95 degrees for safety issues, right now im running less than 44 alll the time even with 100% load? , wierd but i think my laptop CAN cope

If you insist on clocking it up, do it slowly. Don't just go straight for your target, go up slowly..check its stable..check temperatures, then move up a little bit more.

!?!?!?!?!?!?

95 WILL KILL CPU. Anything above 60° will shorten it's life!

FYI: "Checking it's stable" isn't just seeing if it loads windows and sits at idle for 5 minutes, but that it can do some serious work (e.g. rendering, CPU intensive gaming, load tests, PCMark etc etc).
