I received my Silver license yesterday to my own surprise really:

Now if I look at the ctra signature I still see Bronze?

It's not important to me, but I thought you might like to know about it and see what's causing this.

There's another thread about this somewhere but I can't be bothered to look. The signatures aren't updated for the moment, they're being worked on. Don't know the exact details but that's the gist (sp?) of it.

There's been a fair few threads on this, and even a brief philosophical debate over whether CTRA should even have a 'league' user bar...

Sam didn't get it finished before he went away on holiday for two weeks and left in limbo under a mountain of work to do... cheers Sam ...and he does most of the web stuff. I thought better of having a go myself, i've got enough bugs to fix as it is !

He's back now so he'll be on the case, we've got a lot of new cool things coming, and a fully featured userbar section inside MyCTRA is one of the first things that will come online.

Before he does this, however, i've told him to go clear the report backlog ! Then I must get around to asking him how his holiday was...

Is it a secret or can you tell us what we have to put in the signatures to get the bars for SS and BJ?

I've not necessarily finished making the bars look good (arguably haven't yet started ) but what you put into your signatures or link on other forums shouldn't change, now. The changes will all be server-side, if/when they happen

One of these days, I'll actually get a chance to do some racing! LOL! It's a bit frustrating, really.. on Sunday evening I had to give myself an extra few thousand points on my SS licence because that was the only way I could enter the SS2 server to un-password it after the STCC event. Well I have 3 and placed together they work out only marginally larger than a normal bar. As for Sam and his 4, well he is awkward at the best of times...

Nope, you're not .

I wish we could agree on a guideline as to how bars should be displayed, but I guess it's impossible to find a general consensus. And it's probably just me being anal and wanting everything all tidy and organized.

I agree. I adblocked the domain yesterday when every post was suddenly accompanied by 28 zillion userbars.

I'm sorry that they are not to everyones liking, but as i've found with a lot of things in the CTRA you do something that a lot of people approve of and some will always find it frustrating - like the anti-spam system recently introduced for example.

At least the tools do exist for those users who dont like the userbars (either adblocking the ctrau.ukct.net subdomain or turning off forum signatures).

Personaly, if I had my way, we'd only have the mini bars. I dont like the big ones much - especially when multipls large bars are used in signatures.

I just checked the LFS forum on my lower-res'd laptop, and I was actually a bit shocked at the amount of screen space they take up.

Becky asked me for a random userbar option a few days ago, and I'm working on that at the moment. When it's working, I'll be encouraging people to choose that option rather than using them all at once.

Well, since yesterday evening apparently I've blocked 1531 CTRA userbars, but also 256 BOTT userbars - and they're big ones - so it's not just you 'orrible lot polluting my browser with your adverts.

The LOTA ones were a more rare occurence, but they're still blocked. Death to all userbars!

Kev, I do empathise totally. We've kept our bars to the standard sizes, and the random option *only* delivers minibars - the ones I think are much more reasonable

And I thought this topic would have died a long time ago

Thanks SamH, and I'll start using the random one too, although I probably can better stick to the CTRA original one. Didn't drive anywhere else
