I was Racing on CTRA Race 1, Blackwood GP at around 8:20 on Wed, 26 September. I finished the race in 4th place, unfortunately shortly after (around 3 seconds) finishing, I was so pleased (due to the fact I have been out of form for some time now) that I typed ' ' four times. This lead to me being kicked, however when I returned to the server I wasn't down as gaining any point, I found this slighlty strange.

Hi Mopstar, it looks like you havn't filled in your name in the $menus within the server or at the myctra page, IIRC you need to enter a password while in the servers to gain access. If you are having difficulty with the $menus , when in a ctra server type $ in the chat and use the [?] button to navigate the menu.

I think (and Im no ctra admin so I could be well wrong) that you didnt score points in the race above because even tho you had just crossed the line, as shown in the replay and LFS results,; the ctra race manager either, A: discounted your results because it initiated kicking you before it recieved the full results for the race, or, B: didn't get your results because you had already been kicked and were no longer on the server. or some combination of the 2.

anyway its best to wait until the results screen fully appears, if only the [?] appears then wait 10 seconds or so before repeating any chat binds

As you know you were kicked automatically for the "" spam, this has caught many of us out whilst celebrating, or even during close racing, but its a good rule and there for a good reason.

I recomend everyone to get aquainted with the CTRA site, and READ through the rules, and all the $menus in the servers before clicking the I AGREE button.

I was in this race at the time - so I had the $results page up - and LFS's finishing order did (as you can see from the replay) register Mop's finish, but the CTRA finishing order didn't, most likely because of the lag in the CTRA system receiving results.

Nevertheless, if the LFS finishing order stores the results, why can't the CTRA finishing order read from that, rather than individual clients? If, for example, someone leaves right after finishing a race, they would be discounted - and the race itself was not affected at all, as with this case. It does strike me as odd that, despite the delay in CTRA results that I was already aware of, if you leave the server it simply removes you from the order - not least because the people behind you take your place, simply because of a glitch.

Is there any way this can be sorted out? A rare problem, sure, but still a problem with the system.

Did his LFS result only show a question mark, or had it solidified into a number. CTRA only receives a useful data packet from LFS when the drivers position is confirmed.

If a player leaves before that happens it is possible the X-System never even got enough data to process. Also, are we sure the player got no points? How did he check? Also, did he derserve points? How many off track incidents did he have and or was his best lap time any good?

There are a lot of reasons you can flunk out on points, but i'm affraid i'm not going to look at a client side replay - it could even have been lag related see, but I cant see that from your replay. In all, there are so many questions that I cannot answer from the client side replay, I need the server side replay to give an answer - but a driver not getting points in a race isnt the system broken, its simply a driver not understanding why he got no points.

I'm not going hunting for the replay. If you felt it was significant enough then a report would have stored the replay, but i'm not sure what the admins would have made of it.

The replay posted in #1, Becky, is a server-side one - I saved a report and took the replay from there, so you've no need to go hunting, or worry about lag

The position in LFS's results had solidified into position 4. The reason we're concerned about points loss is because Mop's finish never even registered on the CTRA results list - which I wish I'd taken a screenshot of, now I think about it - so I can't see how any points could've been awarded. Even if they weren't deserved (I think they probably were), it's still a glitch in the system, and could cost another driver 75 points in another situation.
