why we love LFS?

I personally think the graphics are great as is, with the addition of the high-res packs that the community has produced, plus a healthy dose of AA, it's spot on.
LFS looks so much more real than the competition (competition, yeah right ), everything is dull and dirty like in real life.

Now, if you'll excuse me, i must go and find out why everything outside has suddenly developed this weird.... glow........
I love LFS for the simple fact most of cars arent efected by licensing of car games of today most of them dont exist

And i love the simplicity of the game no loads that take painstakingly long
I can just look on serer adn jump into thge car and start to drive)not bump and jump' with their no mid race join.

But who cares

I remember an English PS2 magazine saying the PS3 would have "better than real life graphics", at the time i thought they were taking the piss, but now with the amount of Bloom they use i think they might of done it!

I think LFS looks quite good...

BTW OP, great post.
Speaking of which, why is your wheel in bits?

after many years of good service it just packed in, nothing would see it in windows (tried 3 different comps) so dismantled it to check for loose wires and what have you and all fine... so new wheel i gues but with the youngest daughter very ill money is needed for more imortant things, but a few more weeks of putting in the over time ill be back

Honestly, you look at that picture and struggle to find areas that could be improved.

LFS looks fantastic!, i can't see why people moan that the graphics are poor

EDIT: The only 'Effect' that i'd like to see added would be motion blur to the wheels & tyres only, there's something distracting about a flickering texture on the inside of the tyre when in a single seater.

Gawd yeah.. I would love that too. I've kinda been waiting and hoping for a Kegetys mod to do that, but so far nothing
Yeah, it certainly seems like something he could achieve.

Perhaps if enough of us think it hard enough, we could send him some subliminal message and get him to crack on with it...... Or maybe he will just stumble upon this thread

  • Well, LFS doesnt look real at all

I'm not sure what you consider real then, i honestly don't know how you can say that
I know everyones entitled to an opinion, do you think all the games with Bloom'o'matic switched on look more real?
  • Community, both on the forums and on the track. In LFS I feel like I'm racing against other people, not just names on top of cars.
  • Interesting cars
  • 'It just works'. From insanely short load times, no-frills menus to features like online skin downloading or sleek-as-Kate Moss-on-heroin net code. (That slogan actually suits LFS more than certain PC manufacturer.)
  • Low-key graphics. Just add a little more physics induced effects (sparks, thicker smoke, debris, dirt) and voilá!

personly im happy with what LFS pushes out in the grafix department, be even better i could run it maxws out ...

as regards it feeling REAL.. well i dont think GT looks anymore real than LFS and imo rfactor doesnt look as real as LFS thats a personal thing though...

i think what it is LFS doesnt have the blooming effects of the latest games, the lighting is not so dramatic, but again i think this plays into LFS's favour i would actualy be upset if in final S2 lfs went that way, reasons??? number i dont think it looks REALISTIC, and TWO boy do you pay for it performance wise...

if i could have anything in the grafix department changed it would be to scruff things up a tad, minimal impact on system req's and i think it would do wonders for the realatiy factor... apart from that im happy

Quote from LFSn00b :Well, i've been thinking also:

And what do i hate/dislike in LFS?:

Small amount of cars(well, 19 is not kinda enough :/)

behAHA! CHICKEN NOOB :feathers:
Quote from LFSn00b :
Demo.(nearly no-one is going to buy it, when there is 2 RWDs for drifting and 1 XFG. should reduce it to 1 car and no online play tbh :/)

NONSENSE!

Netkar pro tried that one and its near death. The multiplayer aspect needs to be tried before you buy since it such a big aspect of the SIM.

Limiting cars/track well you can do that, but never cut the online part.

^^^^ gota agree there LFS IS AN ONLINE GAME, yea people do play offline but LFS 99% online take that out the demo LFS dies! ..

i do agree with the cars though..
I agree with that first post. The thing is, it's great having DirectX 17 graphics and all (I'd LOVE to see this game go up against Gran Turismo 5 for example) but the simple fact of the matter is that any TRUE racing enthusiast gets so wrapped up in the game anyway that the only part that really has to look realistic is the road surface and the curbs. Everything else becomes a blur...

... and maybe the interior too.

Yes it is fortunate that the core purpose of this simulator is to actually simulate.
i loved lfs....but several months ago lfs started to hate me

Agree I would not even consider buying S2 if I had not known how good multiplayer was. I sort of agree with the cars thing - Take one of the XR cars out, IMO, if you're that bothered.
/raises hand...

Sorry to interfere in this fanboi meeting, but I'm kind of... interested. Nothing can be changed to make LFS graphics better, this is what you're saying? Or you're saying that there's just a few details that should be changed and it'll be perfect? You guys are acting like beginning of the 20th century scientists, when they thought almost everything had been discovered and that only a few details were still to find to make science compelte. It's weird, usually fanbois said that they didn't care about graphics although they did agree they're not the best, far from it.

It's a complete other type of game, I know, but just take a look at Crysis, or even Assassin's Creed, and tell me that those game are "lolbloom" and that LFS graphics are better, seriously just do that without laughing; good luck. I agree that there's a difference between reality and games applying the "lolbloom" thing, but saying that LFS graphics are close to reality is just delirious. A person right in his mind just can't say that they are, please go back to the "I don't care" thing.
