Where did it ever mention anywhere about driving on any autobahn? If it was all autobahn, he could just have politely asked the driver to put the foot down.
You know why Schumacher is laughing this off? The worst that could really happen to the Taxi driver is losing his license, and a fine. Schumacher would get a few points on his license, and a fine. Schumacher is a multi-bajillionwillionaire, he could buy the Taxi driver a new life if he wanted.
What, he got to spend half an hour getting bossed about by an arrogant german prat, and is now facing losing his licence for what he does for a living? Who wouldnt love to be in that situation...?
If you knew anything about Michael Schumacher you wouldn't be worried about this now. Read Christopher Hilton's book on him for some fantastic off track stories about the great man that Michael is.
This is even better, I can't wait to hear what the you-know-whos have to say about this:
does his driving license being revoked have any kind of implications on his super license?
And Tiger, im not the type of person who would deliberately buy a MS book, i dont care how much of a nice guy he was usually, whenever i saw him being him he was being a complete dick.
Well, he might have been a complete dick when you saw him, but he's not a greedy dick. If the driver loses his taxi-license then Schumacher won't turn a blind eye.
It's technically possible, but extremely unlikely unless he does this repeatedly or gets into an accident or somesuch.
From what I understand, the FIA can revoke superlicenses if the holder repeatedly and grossly violates the general standard of conduct expected of highly-paid professsionals (obviously open to interpretation), or publicly humiliates the FIA due to some huge scandal in the press.
Even then though, I doubt it because his fame brings so much publicity and money into F1.
So if he keeps getting clocked and the press have a field day about how F1 drivers are a menace on the roads, then the FIA might give him a stern warning.
As for Michael Schumachers taxi jaunt, I wouldn't automatically assume he broke the speed limit or did anything illegal. It's perfectly possible to outdrive a taxi without doing anything illegal by using good observation, anticipation, and planning. Ambulance, fire, and police drivers do it all the time.
Skilful road driving is all about making maximum safe progress.
