Quote from Mako. :No, i meant he drove that way on the autbahn section with no limit,
and below (but still like crazy) trying to go as fast as possible while trying to break as little rules as possible.

Just because I mention that I live "in the US" does not mean that I'm originally from here.

Where did it ever mention anywhere about driving on any autobahn? If it was all autobahn, he could just have politely asked the driver to put the foot down.

Most Autobahns DO have speed limits, btw...
Quote from Jakg :Most Autobahns DO have speed limits, btw...

if that's so....what the hell is Germany for then?
Lederhosen?
Quote from Lateralus :Again, no.

The plaintiff's only evidence is the verbal admission by the cab driver. The defendant has the right to not self-incriminate. What other actual evidence is there? None. If suit were brought, this case would be thrown out before it got to trial due to a complete lack of evidence.

but the denfendant has already chosen to self incriminate himself on tv ! is that really so hard to grasp for you ?
Quote from Bob Smith :Lederhosen?

hahahahahahahahahahaha.....wow, that made my day right there, thanks!
Quote from Shotglass :but the denfendant has already chosen to self incriminate himself on tv ! is that really so hard to grasp for you ?

And my point is that his confession alone is not enough evidence. There has to be something else, and there isn't.
You know why Schumacher is laughing this off? The worst that could really happen to the Taxi driver is losing his license, and a fine. Schumacher would get a few points on his license, and a fine. Schumacher is a multi-bajillionwillionaire, he could buy the Taxi driver a new life if he wanted.
man, I kinda wish I was that taxi driver... but don't we all?

What, he got to spend half an hour getting bossed about by an arrogant german prat, and is now facing losing his licence for what he does for a living? Who wouldnt love to be in that situation...?

he can sell his taxi for at least $63,000 euros through~

at least someone made that offer, genuine or not I'm not sure~ lol
He could probably make more by selling individual parts of the car on ebay. Might take a bit longer ofcourse.

Oh, come on, don't say that, now... let's see one race F1 WITHOUGHT an ego!

If you knew anything about Michael Schumacher you wouldn't be worried about this now. Read Christopher Hilton's book on him for some fantastic off track stories about the great man that Michael is.

This is even better, I can't wait to hear what the you-know-whos have to say about this:

Quote :Hamilton caught speeding in France

Lewis Hamilton had his driving licence suspended for a month after being caught speeding on a French motorway, police said on Tuesday.

The British driver was at the wheel of a Mercedes when he was clocked at 196 km/h near the northern town of Laon on Sunday.

Police stopped him, detained the car and fined him 600 euros.

"He was very polite and cooperative," said a police spokesman, who added Hamilton had since had the car collected for him.

does his driving license being revoked have any kind of implications on his super license?

And Tiger, im not the type of person who would deliberately buy a MS book, i dont care how much of a nice guy he was usually, whenever i saw him being him he was being a complete dick.
196? Pathetic. He's an F1 driver, they should have either clocked him at 300+kph, or not managed to keep up to book him at all!

Only because this Mercedes was made pre-Stepneygate. :P

Well, he might have been a complete dick when you saw him, but he's not a greedy dick. If the driver loses his taxi-license then Schumacher won't turn a blind eye.

The low blow for Mercedes' to come
Quote from DeKo :does his driving license being revoked have any kind of implications on his super license?

It's technically possible, but extremely unlikely unless he does this repeatedly or gets into an accident or somesuch.

From what I understand, the FIA can revoke superlicenses if the holder repeatedly and grossly violates the general standard of conduct expected of highly-paid professsionals (obviously open to interpretation), or publicly humiliates the FIA due to some huge scandal in the press.

Even then though, I doubt it because his fame brings so much publicity and money into F1.

I'm sorry to bring back an old thread, but I've just stumbled across such a fitting picture........

Only if he brings the sport into disrepute.

So if he keeps getting clocked and the press have a field day about how F1 drivers are a menace on the roads, then the FIA might give him a stern warning.

As for Michael Schumachers taxi jaunt, I wouldn't automatically assume he broke the speed limit or did anything illegal. It's perfectly possible to outdrive a taxi without doing anything illegal by using good observation, anticipation, and planning. Ambulance, fire, and police drivers do it all the time.

Skilful road driving is all about making maximum safe progress.
