I kind of agree here, release after voting ended, perhaps?

Yeah, good point.
But it lets you see how the people in the race believe racing should be done. If they don't know much about racing, and it comes across in their chat then it shows that they might be more to blame because they don't know the rules/etiquette. If they are lying, or have a completely different memory of the accident, this shows they may not have been paying attention. In a lot of cases it's usually the guy who goes on a flaming rampage who's to blame.

I like the chatlog because it adds an extra dimension to the voting; because it gives you an insight into what the racers thought about the incident, moments after it happened.

I also like to think that people weight their voting decision. The chat will have a little influence while the actual incident will have most of the influence on who they vote for.
So you are saying if you go into a situation with a bad attitude and the wrong information about racing, and an incident happens, then its more likely to be your fault than the other peoples? That is my concern, what if this person has that attitude, but in this one incident he/she is totally innocent. I've seen people say stupid things in defense of their driving when they really didn't have anything to defend in the first place. I myself have done it, you get carried away in the moment.

I agree with you that the majority of the time its the guy who thinks having a 1mm overlap gives him the corner is to blame, but I think sometimes people can make a fuss and say stupid things when they are the innocent party. I guess it is down to the people voting to decide if that is the case.

I love the way you read the chat log out instead of putting the text on the screen, its hilarious. Nothing wrong with the intro either, very good idea.

Keep up the good work.
Driver A could have moved to the left if he saw him, I won't go in to this overlap business (you don't always see overlap going on in IRL), but you just don't force (actively or passively) cars on to grass.

It looks like it's a racing incident - part SMIDSY, part lag/col dec, part s**t happens.
Both of them. B should have been more carefull, but A just closed the door with no regards about the other car. Also look in the second part of corner, A just goes straight idle line without giving a thought about drive B.

Boths fault, B was too agressive, A was too ignorant.

I'll take your words into account; maybe I'll put a disclaimer into the next episode or something saying not to base your decision entirely on the chatlog.
When does Episode 9 arrive?
Quote from zeugnimod :I guess next year.

Oh no; I shall abstain from my new year's party, sit upstairs and edit videos for you all to see before midnight tomorrow
I voted both of them though it really is B fault i just wanted to be different.
Driver B in my opinion too. Drivers in A's position can't be expected to yield to avoid the contact when the responsibility lies with driver B.
The second part is as much a result of A recovering as it is of his unawareness, you can't blame A for that one.
B

He drives to aggresive...
Absolutely Definately Driver B. I cant believe he thought he was in the right. what a noob
If B did that to me I would send someone bigger and stronger than me round to his house with instructions to remonstrate with him in the sternest possible manner.

I also thought 50+ seconds for an intro was way too long. This is a very entertaining series but you should get straight to your material ASAP.
Totally Bs fault, nudges a nose in hitting A and then makes a very dodgey anyway barge up the inside taking advantage of the fact he's just slowed A down. I would hope that all decent racers would even consider making a repass in the same corner if there first attempt went wrong.

I agree with Kev as well though the videos are about twice as long as they need to be. Maybe the chat log could be posted on the website instead, would make it easier and quicker to read
You cant get rid of the the chat logs those things are awesome
*Saves me the trouble of reading it*
Yeah I really like the chatlog parts too, it was just the intro I thought was a bit unnecessary.

I guess it's not really to scale with the rest of the video. If the video was an hour long then I'd be able to justify it more. I'm not going to ditch it all together; but I may, may shorten it. Every show/game needs an intro section so it's not going to be removed. ( I also spent two hours on that intro, believe it or not :schwitz

Tell you what though, this intro seems to have increased show popularity, we're up to a record 195 votes, much much more than I've seen before! Maybe it's a good omen.

This video was an exception. There hasn't been a chatlog that long before, and I doubt there will be one like that again! (then again I thought that last time we had a long one. It appears LFS'ers are very passionate!)

I have to get the right balance when making this show; I need to include all the useful camera angles while also providing some sort of entertainment. If I axed the bits that didn't contribute to the actual voting process there wouldn't be much of a show left!
i think this phrase still stands....

IF IT AINT BROKE...DONT FIX IT!

astra i think the videos / episodes in the series are great and there is nothing wrong with it.
Overlap and stuff... ok i understand that, but firtst thing, you can talk about overlap when you are driving on the track not on the grass... so what that people cut on WR's. IMO guys that drive in races like the would be hotlapping... bad, mostly ends up with a crash. Second thing, after the first nudge in first part of a chicane driver B should back the hell off and try to overtake in a safer way later in the race.

Vote 1 for keeping the chat log. I find them highly amusing, particularly when they turn nasty.

As for the length of the videos, for me it's perfectly fine. At the end of the day it's only a few minutes of my life that would only be wasted in some other nook or cranny of the internet otherwise.
Yeah the chatlog is one of the best bits, v. funny.
I just want to know if they actually said "sodding" or if you are substituting for other, less kind words.

No, it really was "sodding". A very good word, I might add!

PS 210 votes is a Blame Game record! Thanks guys
