I'd be quiet if I was you

Adding to everything everyone is saying, but seeing it on both sides, I have this to say about it all. When it all comes down to it, there are sim junkies, no issue there, and there are purist's, no harm with them either.

The problem I am see'ing is the fact that some people want LFS to stay the same, on an even keel. Others want to see big power cars and hardcore drifting with smoke lasting forever. Didn't EA just release a new NFS title? Why not get your 200+mph fix from that? LFS is all about class racing.

I got a hold of a tweak program not long ago and drove a 400bhp LX6, tried my road setup on the XRT with a 3 liter "stroker" bottom end on the base motor, basically a detuned XR GTR engine.

But, when it comes down to it, balancing all the roadcars to one class via penalty weight and air restriction, it gets interesting having all drivetrain and engine platforms represented on the track at once.

I say if you are going to make a tweak/value mod program, why not set it up to balance car classes so they are at a higher performance level, ie; bring the XF----XR classes up to the FZ50 spec. It would add more of a sence of realism to add weight to the lower power cars when the engine is improved to keep the handling advantage to a minimum. Of course run the highest performance tire possible around the class as a balance, ie; normal tires due to XFG not having access to road super.

If the tweak is only used offline when your in singleplayer, class racing at a higher pace can improve driver skill to an extent with the higher need to keep your heavy foot in check, and your approach into tight corners more cautious. Nagotiating a field of even 10 cars that are all running 200+bhp and normal tires on fern bay club is a crazy 5 lap sprint in and of itself. How would this be with 20 cars and all of them running 400+bhp?

I am not a programmer but, is there any way we can work toward a more progressive tweak that is more about improving driver skill while having some fun? Of course set aside the ability to take a pre set BF1 with 5 zillion bhp or whatever they need, and a XRT drag car. But it would make the high bhp guys work with whats available rather than comparing times of cars that are probably no where near similar in the tune of the performance.

Can the progression of tweak be productive? Can we work toward a more balanced way of modification? The dev's didn't intend for the community to do this or they would have given us the program, so why not consider the fact that we payed for this sim because it was better than all the rest, not for the fact that it can be modified with tweak's. (I know some bought the game for the tweak, but thats only a few)

Can tweak progress or will it just get left behind like some of the other idea's that have been introduced and then milked for all they are worth on other sims?

Just my two penny's.

I'm using my friends account. I don't think it's illegal since he's not a frequent user of LFS anymore and I didn't use any keygens, cracks or any similar stuff.
okay i guess time for a little story about LFS and games again...

1. LFS is a freaking game like NFS or Race The WTCC game (quickest thing in my mind) which are simply a game, you can play the game however you want since its a game? Games are meant for full fun and to do whatever they wanna inside a game if you play an FPS game then you can shoot whoever u want the result is always the same: fun.
But if you are beeing a dickhole and try to give anyone and everyone arguments about stuff inside a game he truely fails at life horrible, that guy must be friendless, had maximum 2 girl friends and looks ugly as hell.

2. NO ONE aboslutly NO ONE said ever Cars cant be realistic if they have billion HP, can you imagine cars in arround 1000 years? just look now at the cars the most powerful cars does already have arround 1000hp and if you calculate some years to the HP it wont be much a dream or unrealistic stuff since the future is coming and coming.

And to all others who like my work i want to thank for the comments.

And sorry for probably a bad gramma im in rush

Nope, you can PM me.
i believe K. Tsuchiya is on the right track,in terms of correctly using tweak apps, benefiting of them!

Of course fun is and must be intact but creating classes of similar and yet different cars would spice things up!

Ciph is right! no one is capable to force how anyone should have fun!
Its like the arguement about the views we are using:incar means hardcore and from god's view is noob-arcade racer!

We all enjoy the things we like!If the same things match with some others individuals then all are welcomed joining and having fun together!but forcing my personal likings to another being is just dictatorship!

Discussion is welcomed and all views (exept chase view )appreciated as long as we can communicate in a logical basis!

poor english i know, sorry for that!
btw this does work online if you run a sever and put the power and touq numbers in your tittle people can come in and join and race. i run a lfstune server sometimes and its fun when there a few people rippin around.

and for you haters like JTbo you can leave like him to i would be glad. i hate people like that who bitch and wine about mods. if you dont like them dont download them and go back to your race server and leave you gay comments out of here. we dont need it when were tryin to have FUN!!!!!!!! tweaking cars is a great addon to lfs and i enjoy it. some people like crazy horsepower and some dont. its just what you like.
Actually, did the devs ever say anything about Tweak, as in "It derives from the simulation of the game" or similar? I'd just like to know what their position is on this

@Natedog:
How? Does it only work if you are the only person on or something? I tried joining my own (private) server with Tweak running and it kicked me with the car set eng error thingy...
i run the server on my pc and play at the same time and run the lfstune with a car i pick. then in the tittle of the server i put
racer x lfstune xrt hp-0.7 tq-2 as the server tittle.
then people will know what the sets are and they can set before they come in with the car and lfstune settings and come in and play. then your all good as far as a tweaked server. then when switching cars everybody has to spectate to not get kicked. then everybody switch's cars and lfstune settings and joins. sometimes it still will kick people but not all and others can just pit and go. have fun hope this helps.
Yea, it works now, thanks
ciph is there any way you can make the fuction 'Sound raspyness' like on the old LFS Tweaks that were around in S1?
... Like said somewhere, now we can do it almost by ourselves:

Shift + A ftw !
We have the whole engine sound editor now, things are a bit better than one little adjuster value.

Edit: beaten
I would like to see:

Turbo: On/Off and Pressure adjustment

Wheels: Tire type, Width and height.

Engine: Adjust number of cylinders (I would love a V8 in my XRT^^)

Body: Weight adjustment and Weight position on the car body

This may be hard to make, but I would love it

PS: Good Work... My XRT drifts now I tried something like this myself, but I failed...

Oh yes I completly forgot, but with the V patch, people seem to post .eng's like they are edit-able.... I have yet to find a way..:/
.eng files are in the eng folder
.eng files contain the shift-a editor settings and/or the engine pulse sound (as well as the other base sounds iirc).
You can download those .eng files attached in forum posts and edit them with shift-a..
Well, had a go with it now , great tool so a big thanks to you mr. ciph . I just wanted to ask if a default settings button could be added so that I can revert back to the old settings straight away

I can't use Shift-a on Patch V. why? That's what i am saying, i press shift-a on patch V and it DOESN'T work.

If I remember correctly ... type " /edit_eng " first, then Shift + A will work in Patch V ...

As for LFS-Tune, yes, it works well, and it's a small, tidy program, I like it!

However, changing the engine size doesn't seem to work for me, the XRT stays at 2.0L, any ideas why?
i just downloaded the prog and had a run, funny to have a 400bhp 2ltr xrt
but i would love to see the same adjustments like in the old "PowerMod" (pre-lfstweak) that was like the best shit ever, you could adjust pretty much everything with it

or atleast the same like the lfs tweak, wanna drift my 240hp highrev xr again ^^

Yup, guess we've to wait for some updates.

There's a bug with the driver in pit, empty car (no driver) show tweaked values, while the car with driver in have stock values...

ps: I would love a 5 speed uf1 .
